Hey Guys! I've just moved to the Hampton Roads area (Newport News, Va). I'm looking to get my windows tinted on my 04 coupe. For those of you that have your windows tinted what shop did your car?
there is a shop here in richmond who did mine and did a fantastic job and did the rear glass in 1 piece and lifetime guarantee on the tint as well ....oh and it was about $150 bucks i think.... its been a couple years so unsure

Thanks for the response Rick. What's the name of the shop? Mabe I can look them up online for a point of contact.
Not sure where you moved from, but be aware that VA's tint law is 50% on the side windows and I believe 35% in the back. I just moved from Newport News to St. Louis. Atlantic Shoreline in VA Beach that told me they would still tint 35% on the sides if I signed a waver. They're suppose to be pretty good... but pricey. A lot of folks won't do it under 50% because of the state law. I would recommend 35% tint if you can deal with the risk...
I have a guy over off Diamond Springs Road in Va Bch....good guy..has done probably 20 cars for me over the years....excellent every time! Will get his name and number for you.

I moved from Clarksville, Tn (Ft. Campbell). I plan on keeping my car registered there since I still have my house there. Keeping a Tenn. License plate and being in the military should keep me out of trouble.

I am working with a my local rep to put a bill in for next year to drop the front plate requirement. We'll see if it gets any support come January 2012.

What's this???? You're supposed to run a front plate???
Eclipse Tinting on North Military Hwy had done all of my cars and my girlfriend's car. I had 5% all around and 50% up front. Troopers knew me by first and last name, but never did catch on to the front tint. Be fast on the roll down!
I got pulled over last night for illegal tint, has happened three times in the past two years. I bought the car from NC and the tint levels didnt even cross my mind.
If you are considering going over the legal limit, think long and hard. I have to fix it before my court date.
VA Speed shop and performance. for your performance needs.
Down at the south end of Oceania Air Station.
for tinting
isnt VA one of those stickler states ? Tint needs to be factory or not at all. Unless you have Diplomatic Plates.
In Virginia, you can have a dead hooker in the trunk if you have Diplomatic tags...
My windows are a little darker than legal according to one trooper who measured them. They do carry little devices that they slip over your window to measure the tint. I think his was broken.
