The repair is not difficult as long as you have the hand tools and a low wattage soldering iron, not soldering gun. Once you find the proper thread, the instructions are fairly simple. You might also find that the small light bulbs are blowing out, too. This is also easy to repair and there's a thread for this repair, too. Should you need to do this, replace all bulbs at once, even those that are still working. If some are blown, the rest will go soon too. I found this out the hard way. I fixed the blown ones and as soon as I reinstalled the control, more were blown out. You can get everything you need including the bulbs at Radio Shack.
