just laugh at them, one time in 02 when I had my Mill. Yellow 02 vert I was driving through town and two assmunches walk out of a Starbucks....the head assmuch yells to me as he puts his hand in the air.....Taxi !. I pulled over and as they approached I told him he couldn't afford a ride in this taxi....go find your Honda ! The look on his face was priceless.
But otherwise....just laughing at them gets them even more upset then their small lives have them upset already.

No sweat! Thug dude was pissed at himself - probably just got out of prison and his girlfriend left him, jacked up his Toilet Honda because she let her new boyfriend drive it at the track and he found her panties (contributed in) next to the 20 second 1/4 mile timeslip!
So needless to say he was pissed and the very sight of your Vette or anyone else's was trama for him. Perhaps had you followed him he would of been flipping people off and giving them the thumbs down no matter what car they were driving - I mean man, if all that happened to you wouldn't you be pissed?
Don't sweat it! It's just another "loser" who hates anyone that has there life together. It's not just Vettes they get upset about, I had my street rod keyed once and another time someone kicked a dent in the door! The door was probable worth more than there "net worth"!
I've heard "MUST BE NICE" so many times it seems funny now. It used to bother me but now I just consider the sorce.

When someone says that to me I always answer "it is nice, all it takes is hard work"
LOL,I just had a nerdy lil geek in a smartcar do the same to me at a stop light! my wife and I just cracked up laughing.
Now thats funny! My wife has a toyota Yaris [a very fine little car] by the way, and we had a "smartcar" pull up beside us at a light in Nags Head. We both started laughing at the same time because it felt like we were in a big sedan or something! I mean we looked like a stretch limo or something compared to the "smartcar"!

Maybe he was once a previous owner of a Vette and had nothing but problems. I know if mine turned out to be a bucket of bolts I'd be done and over it. There are and were plenty of people here on the Forum that are or had many issues and moved on. I wouldn't judge him on what he was driving at the time...might have been his DD, you never know what someone has in the garage. Hell I ride around in a 95 Accord most of the time.
Look at it this way , He gives you thumbs down to **** you off and you respond by waving high , That may have pissed him off the fact he didnt get a rise out of you. I know he did but he dont know that
You have one of the coolest cars on Earth. Hope this will make up for the thumbs down.

Last year I made a quick evening run in my C5 vert to pick up a pizza for the family. I pulled into a gas station located in the same strip mall as the pizza place to fill up first and noticed a large collection/club of VW GTIs. The placed was packed.
While filling up, I noticed a few young ladies pointing at my car (top down, detailed, shining under the lights) After filling up and while driving off in slow cruise mode, I got a couple middle finger salutes.
I guess the "boyz" were upset their girlfriends liked my C5 vert. Sorry, guys, I can't help it your cars look like potatoes with wheels.

Girl at Pizza Hut friday complimented my FRC. But I get it all the time.
Got gas yesterday at this C store that's owned by an Indian family. I was outside and my wife went in. poppa grabbed his son and pointed at my vette. The guy started smiling and stared at me the whole time I was filling up until I drove away.
Wife thought that was funny! But you don't see a lot of vettes out around here on a daily basis at all.
I was at Auto Zone and one of the counter guys was out front taking a smoke break. I noticed him giving the car a once over and as I approach him he says, " that's the base model, huh?". I said ya, it's the cheap one.
I didn't take any offense, around here if you don't have 4 wheel drive and at least 33's you ain't nothing. My 4x4 Titan on 20's doesn't rate either, mainly because you can't tell whether it's a 4x4 or not, no lift kit and no 4x4 decals!
