I got a thumbs down today
Ok I am A little upset about it because it's actually the first time I have gotten a thumbs down. Usually people respect the vehicle as I respect all other sports cars regardless of the manufacturer. I guess it really pissed me off because I thought the guy was waving at me and I waved back. 2 seconds later I realized: Ah! he was giving me a thumbs down in a beater Honda! Too late for the bird! Plus it was some weird looking thug dude. I guess I shouldn't be upset. Two points: Beater Honda and Weird looking thug dude. Still upset me though.
Wow this got a lot of responses. Thanks guys! For the record I have a beater 1991 Subaru. Also, before the vette I had a Honda s2000. Just was a little small for me and a tad bit underpowered for my liking without modding.
Two other posts I want to draw attention to:
1 - The guy could have had massive problems with his vette in the past and therefore gave me a thumbs down.
2 - I am very aware of the terrible tragedy in Sendai. In fact I gathered funds the other night at my poker game to donate to the Red Cross efforts. A close friend of the familys lost their home in Sendai.
Occasionally we come online to escape the reality and get support.

Really no use getting upset - not everyone is a fan of the Corvette and they don't mind being jerks about it. Probably just a case of jealousy. At least he didn't give you the bird.

Really? You're upset about getting a thumbs down from a guy in a beater Honda? If it would've happened to me, I would've burst out laughing and then probably pitied the guy because it is obvious he is down on his luck.

No sweat! Thug dude was pissed at himself - probably just got out of prison and his girlfriend left him, jacked up his Toilet Honda because she let her new boyfriend drive it at the track and he found her panties (contributed in) next to the 20 second 1/4 mile timeslip! 
So needless to say he was pissed and the very sight of your Vette or anyone else's was trama for him. Perhaps had you followed him he would of been flipping people off and giving them the thumbs down no matter what car they were driving - I mean man, if all that happened to you wouldn't you be pissed?

Well, we all know that Hondas are faster and cooler in all aspects. Why even try to look cool in your Corvette or expect any respect from Honda guys or Ferrari guys. Nothing's cooler than a beater Honda and looking like you have no education.
Just remember the pecking order: Ferrari > Beater Honda > Corvette

There will always be people like that, their just jealous. One of the bases I was stationed at had a bunch of Mustang guys in it, they ALWAYS talked trash about my 84, completely unprovoked, usually avoided em.Anyhow, finally I agreed to go to the track to settle things (only two showed) Beat both their cammed 9x GT and a 97 Cobra... Next day I went out to find the side of my car all keyyed up.

Maybe he was once a previous owner of a Vette and had nothing but problems. I know if mine turned out to be a bucket of bolts I'd be done and over it. There are and were plenty of people here on the Forum that are or had many issues and moved on. I wouldn't judge him on what he was driving at the time...might have been his DD, you never know what someone has in the garage. Hell I ride around in a 95 Accord most of the time.
