My 99 dual A/C was working great until one day not long ago I heard a hissing sounds well it turns out it was the valve on the low pressure side was leaking so I took it in today to have the valve replaced and a leak down done and also recharge the system well after driving home I noticed the same symptoms as before cold on passenger side but just warm on drivers side, I can switch the A/C to defrost and it blows cold on passenger side but still warm on drivers side even through the defroster also I don't hear the clucking noise that some talk about with the broken gear syndrome on the actuators, also I am not sure how to check for codes or what to do if I was to find them.
any help would be appreciated
thanks inn advance
Take it back to who did the service and get the charge correct. If the high/low pressures are not correct you will get exactly what you are seeing (cold on passenger side/warm drivers side). Do a search on the A/C pressures and go back and get it serviced correctly. Common problem with C5 A/C system.
It could be an actuator but you should hear the clicking and possible throwing codes. if your a/c was working good prior to the leak i would not chase a bunch of ghost problems, get the pressures right. i'll keep searching but there is an excellent thread on this problem where everything was done to the a/c and it was the pressures all along. i had the same problem last summer, got the pressures right and cold air both sides. good luck
A/C was working good until the schrader valve starting leaking and then it only blew cold on the passenger side and then when it all leaked out the A/C light would not stay on because of low freon.
