This afternoon was rolling slowly through a parking lot and saw a C6 Z06 approaching. I gave the appropriate wave. He looked at me like from another planet. Do they not do that in C6 land? I know he saw me 'cause I had top and windows down.
We just had a 4 page thread about the wave that got locked. There were a few C5 owners who told us we were stupid for waving and they wanted no part of it.
So no, it'snot inclusive to C6 owners and yes most of them will wave. the ones who don't either don't see you, or they are butthead youngins who think it's cool to wear their pants around their ankles but not cool to wave to a select small group, who happen to be lucky enough to be in a brotherhood.

At the price you can purchase a C5 these days almost any idiot can buy one. Personally, I always wave out of pride - OPS - the key work being pride to be part of such a great group.
Don't get mad - feel sorry for them and realize that for each of them there are hundreds of C1, C2, C3, C4, C5 and C6 owners who appreciate and will wave.
I figure you've got enthusiasts,and you've got owners.
Most enthusiasts wave,most owners don't.
At least that's how I see it.....
I think you've got it. Owners might not even notice you're in a Corvette if it's not the same body style. But who cares about them? They don't understand Corvettes anyway, they only saw the price tag.
AHHHH....This takes me back to, I don't know, 1997 or around there, maybe.
Circa 1997: Those A!@#$% C5 owners! Just because they have money and can afford a new Corvette, they're not really vette people! I've waved at every C5 and they NEVER wave back!!!! What's this country coming to!!!! God Damn C5 owners!!!!
I think the first recorded non wave back was on September 5, 1961. Those G!@#$%^ C2 owners!! They're not really vette guys!!...........
I generally will wave or wave back. But I have "missed" waves because I didnt notice the other vette soon enough, or I'm midshift(both hands busy). I've actually gotten a dirty look from a fellow vette owner becuase he waved and I didnt get a chance to wave back(shifting).
You know the great thing about being an enthusiast? It doesn't matter what you have, there is always someone else who is also an enthusiast. Take for instance, the vette wave, the bikers wave, the Del Sol wave (though those cars are truely becoming random and few now). If you chose to wave or not is your decision, (but as for me, I will always wave, simply because I am an enthusiast and it could lead to a great conversation, or oportunity). The only time I won't is if my hands are on the controls, and even then I will give the "sorry didn't see you till you look in the rear view mirror" wave.
Did you ever think that there may be a post over on the C6 Forum about some guy in a C5 convertible trying to make a pass at the C6 owner in a parking lot?
