Default Harbor Freight Jack Stands

I see Harbor Freight has a sale going on through 3/27 and I wanted to replace my jack stands. Anyone have experience with their stands overall and specifically, their 6 ton pair on sale for $45.00?

I have the 3 ton stands I use for my Ford F-250 with no issues. I plan to get the the 6 ton for my motorhome to do some brake work.

I've a set of their 6 ton stands, and have used them extensively. No issues at all.

I'd just look at the pair you're buying to make sure everything looks like it's welded together right.

Some of their stuff is a bargain...some of it is cheap junk.

I like the double locking ones from northern tool better, since they have a locking pin for better safety:

BTW, the 6 ton double locking ones are $39.99 on northern tool's website for the pair... the 3 ton ones are $26.99

From another forum but worth the read. I won't be buying harbor freight jack stands, tools that I can use and abuse yes, tools that if they break it might kill me, no.

Just bought that jack yesterday. I saw a lot of guys here had it and loved it. Looks well built for the money. It has a nice lifting range too. And get a $59.99 coupon from the auction site. I did and they took it, no questions.

Exactly the reason I chucked my harbor freight ones and got some with that extra locking pin to make sure they are secured. I don't want something like that happening.

I have four sets of HF jack stands from 4 ton to 6 ton, and never had a jack stand failure. I always leave a hydraulic jack "for safety" under the side of the car that I am working on. I have three HF hydraulic jacks. I have had one hydraulic jack failure in the 50 years of working on cars.

I just picked up one of their low profile race floor jacks. Very nice tool! For $79. regularly $99. I believe.

It is quite heavy and not cheaply made. Made lifting the vette a piece of cake.

I have a HF 2ton low profile floor jack and a sears 3.5ton floor jack & (4) 3ton sears jack stands. The HF is cheap compared to the sears jack but the 3.5 doesn't fit under the vette.
