I am installing depo headlights this weekend. I have ordered HID kits for both low and high beams. Is there any way for the low beams to stay on with the high beams? I notice with my car now that if I drive with the high beams on for a while and then a car is coming towards me. When I turn off the highs and go back to the lows I cant see the road hardly for a good 5 seconds since the hid's arent warmed up. By leaving the lows on with the highs I wont have this problem when turning the highs off.
I have radioflyer's Hi4 relay kit. George really has it sorted, even with the Ford relay
I install my HID high's to complement my HID lows in my Depo's this weekend, but it's been working just fine with the hid lows/halogen highs since last April.
You could probably find the wiring, terminals, and relay yourself and save a few $'s, but I found it nice just to open up the package and clip everything in. Attach the relay, run a ground, you're done.
I have ACAs...both stay on. Mine came with the harness for this. My lows are zenon but I think my Highs are halagen.
With the ACA's couldn't you just NOT use the harness it comes with? Just plug the headlights directly in and be done with it. So essentially they would look just like a stock hookup. I've never understood why the ACA's came with that harness
Not really sure either....I think (& I have been wrong once before) it also allows the closing on the lights with the high beams on. Without the harness you have to go back to your low beams to lower the headlights. So if you have your hi beams on & turn off your lights, they will remain in the up position. You have to turn your light back on, then dim to the low beams to retract the light doors. Does that make sense? Again, I may not be even close, some one with electrical knowledge would be able to answer better than me.

What the ACA harness does is enable you to run high and lows at the same time. That is what the harness does, If you don't want to have your lows on when you go to highs you can install them without the harness, I have the ACA and I did the relay mod, It is a lot quicker than the ACA harness.
hey what hid kit that you got for the depo headlights? im installing mine this month !
I got my kits off ebay. They look liek high quality kits. I got them in the mail the other day. The company that makes them is VVME which is a german company. I paid about 55 bucks a set. I am going with 55w 6000k low beams and 55w 4300k high beams. I also got a 35w 3300k fog light kit as well. I can't wait to see how these perform.
If anyone has ran hid on the depos. How did you run your wiring into the headlight housing? Did you drill a new hole for the boot that is made into the wiring?
I just got my depo headlights in the mail today and I must say they look great. Great quality pieces. The projectors are much larger than I thought they were as well.

I mic'd the HID grommet, then used a socket that was just slightly undersized as a template to cut out the center of the DEPO boot. For my bulbs, there was a little too much wiring between the grommet and the bulb terminations, but by looming it just right everything fit inside the housing after the bulb was seated and the DEPO boot was fitted up.
I'll have to measure again later today when I get home and install the HID highs I've had laying around for 10 months.
^Great. That is exactly of how I was thinking of doing it. But I was concerned of the distance between the bulb and the boot with all the wiring tucked inside.
