Awesome LIFT!

I visited a friend of mine that owns one and let me tell you it works PERFECT, for it's intended use. Love the idea of being able to take your tires off for easy cleaning and you can wax and clean the car at a comfatable height. If you need to or want to, you can get under the car safetly by supporting the lift with stiff-leg jacks. I would not get under any lift,,,,4 post,2 post or a scissor lift period without secondary safety in place.
YES, if you plan on doing MAJOR Engine work, tranny and such, then another type of lift should be used.
First of all even an oil change is NOT so easy with the scissor lift but that is not its purpose...or at least not for my use...
Mine (the scissor lift) is used exclusively for 2 things....
1. Doing brake work ..or rotating tires...ever try to jack up a car do do brake work on a 4 post lift???
2. WAXING the car... just sit down with a beer and raise the car up to a comfortable height ...
(still not as easy to do as with a 4 post lift)
I'm kind of surprised at the "wood work" however...I have 2 16 foot 2x12's bolted to the floor that I drive up on...NOT for clearance BUT to make things easier to center the car on the lift...

BTW...I purchased mine abut 10 years ago at Carlisle and it was nowhere near that price ...
Sorry for the slow response guys.. We just had our first baby and I haven't been online much lately.
