Default Question: How do you remove the cowl

I am wondering how difficult it is to remove the cowl with the windshild wipers. I am considering painting it but not certain if it is too difficult to remove. Also, those that have removed their front cowl did it leak anywhere when, caught in rain, or while washing car?

It looks very straight forward.

Here you go:

Remove the plenum to hood seal.
Remove the wiper arms. Refer to Wiper Arm Replacement in Wipers/Washers Systems.
Remove the push-in retainers from the engine edge of the screen.

Notice

Be sure to follow the service procedure when removing the air inlet grille panel. Failure to follow service procedure may cause damage to the air inlet grille panel or the windshield.

Slide the screen down and out from under the edge of the windshield.
Disconnect the washer hoses from the bottom side of the screen.
Remove the air inlet screen.

Installation Procedure.
Position the air inlet screen to the opening.
Install the windshield washer hoses to the under side of the screen.
Install the screen by engaging the screen clips under the edge of the windshield.

No it's not hard. I took mine off and painted it and it turned out well. I had no problems with leaks either and we do get the odd drop of rain in Ireland.
