The right front sensor on my 2000 seems to be dead. Is there a way to "trick" the system to skip this one and set the rears? A search for TPMS did not reveal if there is a way to do this.
I will order the batteries and try to rebuild the sensor this week.
You can't disable it. You would need to have a tunner disable it for your model year. All you can do is press the reset button at start up every time you start the car or see the message appear.
You could trick the system by placing a compatible sensor (and magnet) near to the tire while you run through the reprogramming. That will allow you to reprogram the other 3.
You cant trick the system into bypassing a dead sensor once you then remove the one you used for the "cheat". It will see the lack of a sensor (it would no longer recognize the one fitted to the wheel) as a dead battery and post up the DIC warning (XXX).
I did custom programming to delete it on the C6, I'm sure I could do something similar on the C5's if there was enough interest.
are you sure?
The C6s systems is very different. Dont know any one who has truly deprogrammed the C6 TPMS. Lots of ppl have tried, only to find that 100 miles latter their car goes into limp mode.
