Of course the C5 is a magnet for road race challenges. I get the occasional twentysomething in his Fast and Furious car that apparently wants to race at the stop light. And of course I've been put in my place by many-a-soccer moms in mini vans because I was in the way of them getting to day care on time. My biggest nemisis seems to be "souped" up pick up trucks. It seems those guys come out of the wood work looking me
Who challenges you the most during your daily drive?
I get this all the time, mostly from Mustang's and hopped up, (by hopped up I mean a big wing and bigger exhaust) fart can ricer's. I just let them get a thrill by thinking they beat a Corvette, and ignore them. Your right about Pick-ups though. They all seem to have a major chip on their shoulder.
Well first let me say that I do not street race no matter how obnoxious the other person is. I am retired so I am not a daily driver, but I find there is no one specific vehicle or type of person that seems they want to be able to say they raced a Vette and won. I have just about anything that runs try and have a go. I actually had a county sheriff play around one time, now that was interesting

Haven't had anyone try and egg me on to a race in a long time. Not going to do it anyway, but seems like it was always something like a Mustang that wanted to make a go of it.
For me it's the big Dodge trucks. The diesels more than any other make. They always wait until they are next to me and then they floor it and blow a big black cloud at me and my car. It's a little annoying, but neat that these cars get as much attention as they do.

I had a State trooper in a Mercury Marauder pull up on my 84 and gun it. I was younger and more inclined to stupid stuff like that then but I still didnt feel it would be worth getting a ticket and losing in one day... In my C5 its usually stuff like Cobalts, Camaros, and the occasional sedan with racing stickers on it.. I cant ever keep from laughing while I try to ignore them and their best attempts at my attention. Especially when I get stuck next to them several lights in a row.
Mostly the trucks. Followed by the Honda Vtech things. And yes, of course believe it or not, the minivans, although they are now being pushed back by the Lexus or Infinity SUV (smaller model).
My first challenge of the year came this past Sunday. It was a black Audi TT coupe with a 3.2 (assuming it was an 09). I noticed him behind me on the highway just before getting on the off ramp. First opportunity he had to get beside me, he did. When the light turned green he dropped the hammer and went showing me what he was capable of. Of course I just let him go. If it was at the track, I'm sure I would have destroyed him since I'm running low 12s. Still a quick little car though.
Some of my favorites are the ones that are clearly going slower than me while I have my cruise control set until I catch up to them and they then begin to accelerate. It's comical because I can begin to slowly speed up but no matter how fast I go they have to match it and stay a fender ahead of me. Sometimes I go ahead and teach 'em a lesson, but it's usually more fun to just laugh at them and let them think they ran with a Vette.
I also like to hear guys talk about how the big diesel pickups are so powerful that they can tow a trailer up hill and keep up with my Vette while doing it. I occasionally see people trying to act on that notion. Again, pretty comical.
I've seen every kind of vehicle imaginable try to mess with me, nice cars, big diesel trucks, and the biggest POS, dirt road covered Buick LeSabre you've ever seen. It's not about the kind of car, it's about the kind of person behind the wheel.
Well the ones that due want to run seems like they would wax my ***. Most of the 4bangers that would try me know that they would whoop me. I never had a ricer or truck race just guys that know they have fast cars. Most of the time I get my *** handed to me but it's cool.
I represent the power every time unless it seems unsafe. I don't care if a 1979 Corsica revs me or a Dodge diesel, I blow their doors off and let them know who the king of the road is. Everyone in my neighborhood knows their place, right here:

No, you're definitely not alone! I've waxed many drivers that needed an education. However, I've also noticed a few people that instigated it just so they could see what my Vette could do. They didn't really want to race but just watched me roar off. I like to have fun but try not to be stupid about it too.
I mostly get guys in Audis, AMG Mercedes, and BMW M3/M5's. I don't bother because it's pointless for me to race them. I know what my car runs, and most of the guys that "street race" can't drive for chit, that's why the street race. Nobody will ever see their times or "talent" of launching and shifting a car. For the truck guys, I wouldn't even waste my gas unless it was a Lightning that was at the very least, pullied.
Mostly when this happens I'll rev at the light to entice them more (after they started of course) and then when it turns green I won't do anything and they floor it
In our town cops are always hiding so often times you see them get pulled over seconds later
