Default both windows leaking?

I just bought a 2000 FRC from Arizona and have now gotten it back to a climate its not use to..Vancouver Canada...so lets just say its a little bit more moist here... At first i thought i may have had a heater core leak as the floor was wet on the passanger side, but later discovered the rad leak was from a hose and the water on the floor was from teh windows leaking... Now i haev discoveredd both windows are leaking as the headliner is wet. What would be the best way to fix this as it look like the weather stripping is in great shape. I think teh water is coming from the metal rain that goes along the top of the windows? can i just take them off and re-seal them or will it require ia new one? I dont want to use a bead of cocking as it would look ****ty. Any advice would be appreciated

What I did was take everything out (carpet, dash, head liner, etc) and run a hose all around so that I could SEE where it was leaking from. Then I used RTV sealant to seal it up, let it dry, put everything back and called it a day. It was a pain for sure, but now I'm not leaking

I need to do this same thing when I get the time and the weather to cooperate. My '99 FRC gets to "wear" a trap since I don't have a garage to tuck her away in currently.

Probably apply an application of dielectric grease to the weather-striping.

Then if you still have a leak, you might have someone on the outside blow air in along the edge (hair dryer) of the window where it meets the rubber and feel from the inside where the gap is located. If you have a solid leak at the seal, follow the window adjustment procedures. I've seen the steps published here, just run a few searches.

If you don't have a noticeable amount of air coming in, then I would suspect the udders may be full of junk and are dumping water inside. Look through the Weights, measurements, ratios, strengths, etc sticky at the top of C5 General, there is info on one of the pages on how to clean them out.

It might need new weather-striping.

I've got a few files on the C5 and water leaks. If you'd like a copy, PM me your e-mail address.

As Jet Jock says, check the udders are clear as that can cause wet carpets at the passenger side (but not both sides).

If the seals don't look to be compressed the first thing to do is adjust the window tip in to make sure you dont have a gap between the window and the seal.

Window Tip In Adjustment – Door
Tools Required: #6 Inverted TORX Socket

1. Position the window fully up.
2. Remove the large access plug from under the front of the door.
3. Loosen the window regulator front channel mounting nut.

4. Remove the reflector from the trim panel
5. Loosen the jack screw jam nut.
6. Adjust tip in with the jack screw.
o Turn the jack screw clockwise to tip the window outward.
o Turn the jack screw counter-clockwise to tip the window inward.
o One turn of the screw equals approximately 1 N•m (0.04 in) change at the top of the window.
7. Tighten the jack screw jam nut.
8. Lower the window.
9. Tighten the window regulator channel front mounting nut.
10. Raise the window and check the alignment.
11. Install the access plug under the front of the door.
12. Install the reflector in the door trim panel.
