Put the car away in fall and just got it out and have driven maybe ten miles and the sensor willn't put out a reading. Any ideas, I think it maybe time for new sensor. What would be the cost of one? Thanks for any ideas.

My TMPS act up for a few days after sitting for a while, I would give it a week before replacing

Try bleeding off about 10psi and replacing it, then drive a few miles. I have had to wake mine up this way after winter storage a couple of times. Can't say how yours will do, but it has worked for me.

They really should start reading the pressure once you get up to about 15 mph. If you drove 10 miles and still no reading, try to reprogram the sensors - if that doesn't make them work, consider some new sensors.
Its a centrifugal switch in there and as it wears, it can get stuck. I would suggest banging on the side of the wheel but not enough to bend it, then rememorize all of them with a magnet. Most likely it stuck in the on position when it was shut down and drained its little battery.
My right rear finally gave up on my 98 last fall... (internal battery failed) so the 10 year life span is about correct (mine has 26,000 mile son it)...IF I could have just turned them OFF (like you can in the newer model C5's to be honest I would have.,.. in the end I purchase 4 new ones for about 80 bucks apiece...BUT had to have a tire dealer install them (extra money)
Took my car out of storage on Thurs. Drove one mile to an air gun to adjust the pressure to spec. (30 PSI) the DIC was showing storage pressure (27 PSI). Drove 15 miles at various speeds with no reaction to the TPM's. Shut it off, checked the fluids etc. refired it up and all was well. Took some time, one ignition cycle and tire heat to activate the TPM's. Showed 32 PSI all around on the DIC and a digital tire gage confirmed the readings. Working normal Fri. and today. Car is 2001 with the original TPM's, 51,000 miles.
