Default fbody gaskets

I am getting ready to start a headers parts list. I keep reading here that it is a good idea to use the Fbody gaskets because of the shape of the holes. Does it really matter? What do I look for just 00 camaro exhaust gasket? I know that there was a difference in the z28 vs SS so does it matter which gasket I get?

Thanks

You can re-use your stock gaskets as long as they are in good condition. I am on my second set of headers and still on the original gaskets.

yeah, after 11 years i highly doubt it and stopping an install in the middle because of a 25 dollar gasket is a good way for a tool to get thrown

I went with the Fbody gaskets. I have them waiting to go in so if nobody posts up the p/n, pm me and I'll get it for you tonight.

When I installed my headers in April 2008, I used the F-body gaskets.

If I remember correctly, they have circle ports instead of square ports which are supposed to line up with the header flange better (or something like that)....

In April '08, the exhaust gasket part number was 126 17944.

But it had just changed from 126 00530, so it's possible the part number has changed again since 2008

Good Luck......
