I am getting ready to start a headers parts list. I keep reading here that it is a good idea to use the Fbody gaskets because of the shape of the holes. Does it really matter? What do I look for just 00 camaro exhaust gasket? I know that there was a difference in the z28 vs SS so does it matter which gasket I get?
When I installed my headers in April 2008, I used the F-body gaskets.
If I remember correctly, they have circle ports instead of square ports which are supposed to line up with the header flange better (or something like that)....
In April '08, the exhaust gasket part number was 126 17944.
But it had just changed from 126 00530, so it's possible the part number has changed again since 2008

gotcha thanks, i found that number but it kept coming up every car GM made but the camaro it seemed. same as the part number for the bolt that holds on the 01+ dipstick tube. I had to call gene on that one.
