Go ahead and sell the C4 and get a good C5. After you get a C5, you won't ever want to get back in the C4.
I Had two C4s, and after I sold one and bought a C5, the second one didn't stay around any longer than it took to sell it
You might want to check kelly blue book for your area. Its not super accurate but most likely it's what the seller will be using, so it should give you a decent ball park number
Yes you can find a C5 for 13-15k. Just have to take your time and watch the forums for one to pop up. Thw ones I have seen for 13-15k usually are above the 100k mileage mark.
closest i have seen so far is a 1998 vert with 200,000km(124,000miles) for 15k. how long can these engines go?
if properly taken care of they should last for awhile like any Ls1.
There are a couple members with over 300,000 miles on the clock.
you start modding and racing its going to take it's toll.
there is no comparison. while i had it i loved my C4 (93 convertible) (my wife hated it because of the very low exit point) couldn't believe the vast improvements made in the C5. i have an 04 CE convertible and it's like trying to compare apples and oranges. they are really 2 completely different vehicles similar in the corvette name only in my opinion. about the only thing i believe was better, the C4 seats were really great (once you got over replacing the side bolster that you scraped getting into and out of it). the sport seats on the C5 are a bit weak.

if properly cared for, nobody knows. at least 300,000 miles+. nobody has really been able to put enough miles on one to find out. mine has 131k, and it runs like it is brand new. you would not believe the abuse i put it through. now you may have to change the transmission or differential before that. 150k is about the limit for the stock clutch.
You will love it. But you will find there are things you'll like about your C4 too. I traded my C4 in on a G8 GT. It was a tough call, but I really didn't have the room to keep it I love the C5, but I do miss things like the Digi-Dash... I'm apparently in the minority that liked it. It's also much harder to see ones in decent shape so its nice if you have a good example. I hope to get another C4 someday, like you for nostalgic reasons. It was the Corvette I wanted as a kid!! Good luck finding the one thats right for you in the right price range
Take it from another Canadian buy one in the US. You will only find expensive high milage cars here. I bought mine in NJ and drove it home to Edmonton. Best road trip ever! Also, drive a c5 before you buy a mustang. Make sure you understand the difference between the 2 cars. Good luck.

I have a 1988 C4 and also a 2003 ZO6. the C4 is modified but it is alot more fun to drive than the ZO6, and it"s faster than the ZO6. I would sell the ZO6 before I would sell the C4.
I miss my C4 but I'm happy with my C5. There are times I would just like to go on a windy country road and have the feel the C4 gave me, but my C5 is fun to drive as well. It's a 6 speed and makes up for the difference in feel.
You'll be glad you kept the C4, I wish I could have but my other toys wouldn't allow it.
