My correction. It appears you had a HUD. FRCs didn't have a HUD. Looks like you didn't have and FRC. Good luck for you. The insurance company will add more for all your features (HUD, Climate control, memory option, etc.) and give you more money for it. If the repair cost is more than 85% of what the car is worth they will total it. You want it totaled. If they fix it it goes to CarFax and there is diminished value. Think about it. Would you buy a car that was in an accident even if it wasn't totaled? Either way this will end up on CarFax.
Just noticed it does look like a FRC in the pictures, its actually a coupe, and fairly well loaded, convince package, HUD, not even sure what else!
Yes, as much as I want my car, at this point I dont want it fixed!
Thats why Im worried.. carfax! lol, plus i think the frame is bent and dont want those hassles!
gave you 17 and c6 was 18.. your a lucky man id have to say!

BTW, insurance companies don't count your upgrades.
I'm sure it obviously varies from case to case and depends on your given insurer, but definitely make them aware of your mods and how much money you have put into the car. I totaled a motorcycle 4 years ago and made sure to let my insurance company know the dollar value of the modifications that I had done to it. They then bumped up my settlement check by that exact amount that I had told them without any questions or even asking to see any receipts, etc.
If the frame isn't swayed too much i may have a buyer for it if you decide to buy it back and sell outright. You should be able to get a buyer for it in a heartbeat. I'm 100% serious though, if you can buy it back cheap enough you could put it up for sale for a couple grang more than what you bought it back for and still sell it easily. I know somebody looking for a lightly wrecked one and that one is perfect. Is it a 6 speed or Auto?

Had a 99 myself..totaled on the highway...both airbags out also...sure sign of being totaled being its a 99. Sorry for your loss and good thing your okay!
sucks, glad your ok. But if you ask me, I think that new cam got the best out of you and you were doing more than just driving along and suddenly lost control into a pole. I belive a little gas had something to do with losing traction, not just a little puddle of water at 25mph.
only like 30 mph! and nope walked away, i think it was just so bad because it was a gas meter and a telephone pole, about 3 feet away from eachother, and i hit in the middle of the 2! Ive just been looking at some replacement parts and well into the 12k + just from damage you can see,. im sure shes a gonner.. which might be a better thing, but will make for a sad day when i get the news!
Sorry for the loss of your car, but if it makes things any easier here is some infor on my buddies car. We both got our 98's at the beginning of the model year so you can see that our time with the cars was very long. About 2 years ago he was making a left turn onto a 6 lane highway from a traffic light, it was also a delayed light so there was no crossing traffic for him to beat. When he got half way thru the intersection he applied the gas (his car also was a 6 speed stick) and with some light sand on the road (we drive our vettes in the winter unlike most guys) the car spun two lanes, jumped the medium curb and rested on the island. While the damage did not look to bad, and the car could have been driven he had it towed.....$12,900 later the insurance claim was closed. I think he only needed one fender (body shop did not want to fix the damaged rocker area) and some undercarriage work, so your car must be....a gonner(as you say)...but you might be able to fix it if you like it that much, I would however recommend getting another car.
Now comes decision time, do i buy the car back? it'd be just under $4,000 i believe to purchase it.. not sure if i should or not. I'm done with the car, looking for another to replace it, but feel like I should purchase it back and part it out.. not sure why i feel that way! lol
