That depends on your coverage. I specifically carry aftermarket parts coverage on my car ($26/year for up to $10k in parts at replacement value) because of how much I've put into it. When I was 19 I totalled a heavily modified car and got burned, so I learned that lesson young.
Any of you that have a good bit of $ into mods might give your insurance company a call to see if you have or can add this coverage.
Oooo....didnt even know you could do that Cool
I dont have much in my car aside from a computer system and I have an agreed value policy so if the unthinkable happened Id be fine, but Im gonna need wheels soon. May look into that if I do something stupid and spend k$ on wheels.
If the frame isn't swayed too much i may have a buyer for it if you decide to buy it back and sell outright. You should be able to get a buyer for it in a heartbeat. I'm 100% serious though, if you can buy it back cheap enough you could put it up for sale for a couple grang more than what you bought it back for and still sell it easily. I know somebody looking for a lightly wrecked one and that one is perfect. Is it a 6 speed or Auto?
This place is crazy
Guy has an accident and within five days:
We have the damage estimated
We have his car totaled
We have him buying it back
We have a buyer for the totaled car
And we have suggestions for his next ride.
Now comes decision time, do i buy the car back? it'd be just under $4,000 i believe to purchase it.. not sure if i should or not. I'm done with the car, looking for another to replace it, but feel like I should purchase it back and part it out.. not sure why i feel that way! lol
If the motor itself is still in good condition and could be sold (I imagine it is based on the pictures), I think you could easily turn a profit on parting out the whole car. The motor isn't worth the $4k, but it will bring a good chunk of that. The big questions for you are: 1) could you get a buyer for the salvage car as a whole for more than the $4k; or, 2) do you have the time and inclination to tear it apart yourself and sell it piece by piece?
It looks like you might have an interested party for the whole thing here.

My C6 is 'fully' loaded with the Z51 package and MZ6 tranny. Not plain Jane. BTW, I love the C5 looks but love the C6 looks better.
alot of frcs came with HUD, just not alot of the upgrades you really dont need in plastic interior car. we must have purchased our cars for diffrent reasons.

What's the verdict? Did they compensate you for any of the mods you did?
