Default seats keep moving back

I don't have the memory option on mine, and everytime i get in the car it does the same thing. I sit in it and nothing happens but the second the key enters the ignition (dont even have to turn it) it moves allllllllllllll the way back. Any idea how to fix this?

Send a PM to forum member Bill Curlee - he might be able to help you out with a solution - he knows a lot about the C5 electronics.

Check the seat return setting in options. If you turn it off there should be no reason for the seat to move on its own.

Do you have the "easy exit" option turned on in the DIC Options?

You might try readig the post.

The seats move all the way back when i go to drive the car, not get out of it; like a reverse easy entry regardless of what i do in the DIC

Thanks anyway guys think i'm just gona unplug my battery and play with the fuses and see if that works

Check easy entry anyway and make sure its off just to diagnose. It's not a perfect system. Even though its never done so consistently I've seen my easy entry move my seat back instead of forward when I put they key in. Thought it was a memory issue though. It thought I wanted it in position 2 instead of 1. My position 2 is all the way back and up. Long shot. But diagnosing any unwanted seat movement problem with easy entry on seems silly.

Are you the original owner of the car? I'm asking because I remember someone else in here that didn't have the memory door control selection yet the car had the memory option...he didn't know it and for whatever reason, the door control had been replaced with a non-memory one.

Easy entry isn't on, i never said it was, never even use it.

No i'm not the original owner of the car BUT it never did this before. It seems like after I programmed my key fobs it started doing this (could be a coincidence though)

IDK WTF is going on but i don't think it's a malfunction in the easy entry (i could be and probably am wrong) because I turned on easy entry and even after the seat moved all the way back, the second i back in the car and put the key in the ignition it moved back even further.

Sure sounds like this is the correct answer.

Programing the Fobs wakes up this feature. Some things to confirm this possiblity is that with the seat moving back, the radio station may change and the AC setting may change depending on the original program, so will the outside mirror settings.

Also look for the RPO codes sticker in the car and see if AAB is on there.
