Default Need help finding extra cooling radiator

I need to find a vendor or dealer who sells "extra cooling" radiators to fit my 2003 Auto Vette. I do not want to jump thru hoops to get it to fit my car either, after all, if you pay a bunch of money for a unit it should fit properly. The car is 98% drag race so while I want it to keep the car cooler then OEM single core, I will not cut the car up to make it fit, and want the OEM fans to fit.

Have you installed one in your own car? If so, what temperature drop did you see by installing it? Was it a true "drop in" or did you have to modify anything, like fan shroud, cooling fan mounts or brackets, etc.?

There are two different direct bolt in dual core aluminum radiators available for your car. The Dewitts is the one that I use in my track car. http://www.dewitts.com/ It is truly a direct bolt in using the stock fans, mounts etc. I saw a 20+ degree drop in coolant temps after installation. The other is a Ron Davis - http://www.rondavisradiators.com/ They also come highly recommended by many forum members. The Davis is a little more pricy than the Dewitts. You could not go wrong with either unit.

On the DeWitts radiator, A01A, for my 03 Auto, would be $665 shipped to me, are there any vendors here that can give me a better price then this? I am ready to order a radiator this week from somebody to be ready for the next race event on June 11th.

I had one on my boosted C5 and put it on when I did the motor and boost at the same time so no before or after temps, but in Texas weather I was able to run my AC and not get over 220 in stop and go traffic and normal driving about 194 in the summer.

When you did this, did you have to modify the fan shroud or the cooling fan assy to fit? When you had the original radiator and before you installed the blower, what were the temps the car ran at under the same conditions? Also, did you have a low temp thermostat before the blower or even after?

WOW, I wish mine was like that. What was your boosted setup? engine size, type of blower (YSi?), what radiator, what fans, what water pump and what thermostat?

I got the same one for mine but I did not get it for the A4 I got it for the MN6 and use a external Tranny Cooler-

By doing this you keep both heat sources away from eachother and keep things much cooler!

Thanks,Matt

This thread is good timing as I am thinking of a new radiator as well. My car now has a S/C and trans cooler, and things are getting a little packed in the front end. I was driving in 99* temps with A/C on and I was at 217*. I have seen others run at 220-230*. Is it worth it to invest $600ish on a new DeWitts with my temps at 217* on 99* day, or Do you think I'm good with stock unit?

Have you cleaned your radiator out ? they get clogged with dirt, sand and grass very easily.

My S/C was put in 3 months ago and all the debris was removed and new coolant was put in. It only runs 210-217* when it is 92*+. I am at 185-195 on normal days, 90* or cooler!
