Key'd for the First Time
I almost wish that someone would key or scrape up just my paint job. I have a $50 deductible and would like a fresh new paint job where all the panels matched
When you can get paid more to sit on your azz all day and watch tv why would anyone choose otherwise. As long as it pays for booze and smokes and your cell phone.

Now, I found a few things like this, I wish it would tell you the range/span it recorded.
I NEVER park in 2 spots. I always leave as much room as possible for other people to get into their cars. I re-park if I'm already out of the car and notice I could have parked better. I'm courteous to other drivers on the road. I'm always cool with people around my car or people that ask me about the car. I don't come off as an A-hole or a douche. I'm not modest, but I'm not a snob either. I've never given anyone a reason - EVER - to key my car.
But it will happen, regardless, because some people are only happy when you're not. I have friends that just can't be happy for me when I achieve something or purchase something for myself. And there's always going to be people out there that simply have NO respect for you or your belongings. That's how things go in this world.
As a caveat, I SHOULD mention that I'm not without my vindictive side. True story:
When I used to do electronics replacements for BP at Arco and Thrify gas stations, I drove around my red 97 Formula Firebird. That car was my life. It was the first awesome car I ever owned.
Well, one day while I was working, I came out of the AM/PM to notice a guy sitting on my car. I asked the guy politely not to sit on my car. They way he said "oh, yeah. Sure," I could tell he was a dick. I said thanks and turned around to go back inside and turn the pumps back on when I realized he was going to do something to my car. I looked back, and I was right. I was keying my car right away. I didn't really know what to do since I was at a job site and representing BP and Getronics... So I watched him and his friend jump into this pile-o-crap Ford Fiesta and head on down the street. I immediately jumped into my car and followed them down to a strip mall. When they got out of their car and out of site, I couldn't figure out how I'd get back at him since keying his car would be pointless... That car had more different color body panels than a police car. I did the one thing that I could think of that would really **** them off... I pulled out my giant flat-head and busted the sidewall on both back tires. I figured he'd have at least a spare so I had to get 2 tires. BTW, busting sidewalls with a flathead screwdriver is harder than it looks.
Anyway, I got in my car, went back to the job-site, finished up and left in a hurry.

OK... So they were obviously down on their luck and I could have been more sympathetic to their situation. There was no reason for him to key my car. I asked him politely, and even said thanks in a non-condescending way. What I did wasn't permanent damage either, while they left permanent damage on my car. I could have called the cops, but what would I get out of it and how would I prove it?

I felt sick to my stomach, I wanted to kill everyone who worked in the building because I knew it had to be a fellow employee since it was in a employee only lot.
Had to leave my car with the painter for another month. Finally got it back, but within a couple of months it started to bubble in a few places that had been repainted. Took it back and he redid it again. Same thing happened again.
Fourth time he decided to totally sand the entire car down and repaint, however, this time the color came out a little darker than I originally picked.
After so many months of not having the car, I became so disenchanted that I decided to sell it and buy a '79 Trans Am, the last year with the 455 shaker hood.
Would be the worst decisions of my life...missed my vette every day. Prices on vettes exceeded my ability to buy another one until I got my hands on my current 2000 this year.
Loving it every day now! Good luck with yours, I truly feel your pain!
