Well - probably had to eventually happen....parked at a restaurant and when I come out, someone has key'd the left front quarter panel. I do not understand why people have to destroy property for no reason!
Took it to a friend who owns a body shop, say's he can fix it to probably 95% where I'll be the only one who will notice it. I don't want to have the quarter panel sanded and painted..
It just really irks me, and I cringe every time I read these threads. I don't understand why people cannot have respect for another man's belongings. Oh well. Best of luck getting it repaired. Maybe post some before and after pics.
This has to be about the 10th time I've seen a post like this. Several of the original posters stated that they had parked in two parking places, which still does not warrant keying someone's car.
Several had parked hundreds of yards from the entrance, out in the middle of nowhere and STILL got keyed.
I'd be thrilled if I caught someone doing this.....I'd even hand over my iphone to whoever was standing near and yell....Video this PLEASE!!! Then post the %$#whipping online!
But all BS aside.....I know it hurts to be a victim, having suffered 3 vehicle breakins in the late 70's.... cops said pissed girlfriend.
It just that we all wished there could be justice served on the creeps.

I wonder if it is bad enough would it be covered by auto insurance?
I'll know in a couple of weeks when I take it to the body shop. My friend's shop is swamped with hail damaged cars right now. When I dropped by the other day, he though he could fix it without paint which should be too expensive...
I live in North Texas. About 1 year ago, the owner of a Hummer had his car Keyed. But he had a camera mounted in the side mirror (I think)and had excellent video of the jerk that did the damage. Surprisingly, it was a man about 60 years of age. Anyway, the idenity of the man was determined and he was arrested and forced to pay for the damage. Where is such a camera available ? There probably is no way to absolutely prevent this kind of vandalism but with some technology help maybe some could be prosecuted.
I really feel for you man - mine was keyed end-to-end at a home and garden show -- and I was parked near the center of a row of cars and Not in 2 spaces. It is such a sickening feeling - after the boiling anger goes away. I hope yours works out and they catch the &*@!%# ........ they never got mine in spite of security cameras.

Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason.
Just people with mental problems.
Lots of people with mental problems and jealousy problems...If I caught someone doing damage to my vette I would develope a mental problem real quick and get instant justice...may even read about me in the news...I know its>>>...but
Ouch. Sorry to hear! Does the restaurant have security cameras??
This makes me wonder if anyone has ever mounted a security camera IN THEIR CAR. It would seem a back up camera or some "spy shop" camera could be modified to look out the windshield from the rear view mirror or other location and see who walks by. It could be erased each time you return without any incident. I know there are digitals with amazing clarity that are the size of an old beeper. Heck, with all the iphone apps, you could probably watch your car on your phone from inside the building.

DOH !! I guess I should read every post before I post.
I'll never get it, why people can't just leave others and their stuff alone, no respect! Hope it turns out okay for you, and the fix is good.
It is the same reason why coworkers bitch at me because i have a C5, a C3, a classic mustang, nice home with a pool etc.
because I made choices in life that allow that sort of thing and they didn't. They feel vindicated on their own crappy lives by causing just a little bit of misery on others. A coworker once asked me what gave me the right to be so happy.
