I don't think it really adds to the price of the car
I would say when the person got the car had him sign it or maybe at a show.
David C. Hill, Chief Engineer/Vehicle Line Executive.
His career started with Cadillac in 1965 where he began working in the engine lab on power development and eventually moved into the field of emissions controls.
Senior Project Engineer in the Cadillac engine lab from 1965 to 1973.
Staff Project Engineer for Cadillac engine design and release in 1973.
Became General Supervisor of the Cadillac body and chassis lab in 1976.
Staff Engineer for Cadillac development from 1978 to 1981.
Cadillac Staff Engineer for emissions and transmissions in 1982 and later promoted to Vehicle Chief Engineer for the Cadillac Allante project the same year.
In 1988, he became Chief Engineer for the Cadillac DeVille and Concours models.
May 1992, he became Engineering Program Manager for the Cadillac.
Officially became the third Corvette Chief Engineer, on November 18, 1992.
Its not really uncommon, but it is special. I know one 03 AE model that was signed by the entire assembly line. As far as added value, only to the buyer.

IMO, doesn't really add anything to the price of the car. The prior owner just had Dave Hill (former Corvette Chief Engineer) sign it, that's all. Good for a conversation starter though.

...but I just assume have ET's Signature under the hood...he has given more help on the CorvetteForum than Dave Hill has and probably knows more about the C5 ...........
My passenger side fuel rail cover signed by Mario Andretti. You wouldn't know it unless I told you since his autograph is too stylyzed to be read. Good conversation starter though.
Thanks to all who took time to respond. I'm happy with the cool factor. Still giddy about the car. Sold a 1980 three weeks ago. What a difference in technology in 20 years. Just ordered Cleartastic for the wheel wells and mirrors, rocker panel protectors and wheels for the skid bars. Anybody have good things to say about these products and any other suggestions?

I would give you suggestions but I have a feeling you will have no problem spending money without my help
I bought my 2000 Vert a little more than a year ago & it has a couple of signatures under the hood. I don't know who they are but it would be pretty cool to find out. I think it was signed both in "99" & 2k at Carlisle. If someone here recognizes the autographs please let me know, this way I can at least have an answer every time someone questions me about it. I don't think it increases the value of the car but it is definitely a conversation piece.

I checked out your pictures. I believe the bottom signature is also David C. Hill, same as the one on my car. David and C are pretty clear, Hill is more interpretation. Looks the same on mine. I will try to take and post a picture as well. Thanks for the response.
