I DON'T GET PEOPLE THAT DON'T DRIVE THE CAR!!!
I was working on my car, here in MN, last fall. An elderly man was visiting his son in my neighborhood (he was in from FL). He said that's an amazing car, love the red, what year is it? I said it was a 2002. He said his neighbor in florida had one the same year. He asked how many miles on mine, I said 46k. He said his neighbors has 1,800 miles on it. That's not a typo.
So here are the scenarios:
1. He never enjoys car, dies, kids sell it
2. He never enjoys car, dies, kids keep it
3. He starts enjoying car for the little time left, dies, kids sell it
4. He starts enjoying car for the little time left, dies, kids keep it
Lastly, I don't see C5's being a collector's item that goes up in value either.

every so often
hit a few of the chuckholes, get stuck at several very long lights, end up in a traffic jam, have trouble reaching up to get parking lot ticket, have to squeeze into any available parking space, have to be concerned about leaving it for extended time(better than having to leave the fob with some attendant who may have to move it), then the trek home when it may be raining or worse(snow!). yep, it is a refresher course as to why mine isn't a dd.
what's the point? where's the fun? more like having secretariate/seabiscuit pulling a milk wagon as they used to say- great horses but a waste of talent and excitement.
so for those vette owners who do use theirs as a daily drivers, i salute you: you are a better man than i am gunga din.
now i have to go get a front end alignment, a new wheel, and some touch up work before my next attempt to make it a dd. come to think of it,there's a dusty/gravel construction site i have to visit, and the wife wants me to stop at a garden store to pick-up some plants on sale, pick-up milk and the twins on the way home. i'll just take my corvette-why not-giddy-up secretariate, we got work to do.

Most of you guys really get the most out of your C-5s.
After we got the wifes Black 98 convt. we drove it alot now it just sits. 110 miles last year. Only 15,000 miles to date. We take the Harley or the 57 Chevy out the most.
I'm thinking about putting it up for sale and letting someone get enjoyment out of it.

To me, not driving the car is like being at the model train museum: You want to play with it, but you can't because it's all behind glass. And there's no touching ANYTHING at all... BOOOOOOORING!

Weekends and some trips to work. But I DD a STS so I have a nice DD, not a vette but it's a nice car.
I did just put 2633 on it on the Hot Rod Power Tour. It's not a garage queen but it's not a DD either. Bought it to take trips in.

Before the vette, I would ride my motorcycle to work as much as possible. Now I stand in the garage for 10 min everyday trying to decide...vette, bike, vette, bike...if I take the bike, I miss driving the vette, but I don't miss the bike if I take the vette. Probably going to sell the bike, just love driving the vette too much

I DD my Z06 and leave the G8 at home in the garage.

Similar here. I live just over a mile from work. I always drive it, but I only put real mileage on it when I purposely go for a longer drive.

Other than winter, I drive them every day. If it's raining when I get up I'll drive my truck just cuz I'm too lazy to clean teh car again after I drive it in the rain. Biggest decision is do I drive the red, black, or silver one that day.

I don't drive my Z everyday. I want to save the miles on her while I can do more modding to it. I usually drive my stage 2 WRX or my 04 Tahoe for long trips.

Why buy a Corvette if not to enjoy it?
I've had mine for less than four years and put about 50k on it already, last few thousand with 501 rwhp.
If you're gonna garage queen a car, do it with something old made out of steel!
