I took my sister for a ride today and ran the car pretty hard through the gears. I then noticed the AC was blowing warm. As soon as I backed off and cruised down the road it cooled right back off. Is the compressor supposed to kick off under hard acceleration? I have ran the car faster but not as hard and the ac stayed cool.
BTW my sister who drives Honda's and such said she has never been over 100mph before except in a airplane. Her eyes got kinda big
I've experienced the same thing and I read somewhere that by design the A/C disengages during WOT or close to it. As long as the A/C works good during normal driving I don't worry about it.
it is designed to disengage the a/c clutch to reduce drag on the engine for better engine performance under "pull". it figures you have engaged WOT or similar for a reason so it wants to make certain you get the most out of it you can.
You got that right Thanks for the replies. I figured it was supposed to do that but hadn't noticed it before. I haven't had the car but a few weeks and haven't driven it very hard.
I have had faster cars but haven't had one I enjoy driving as much as the Corvette. I have never owned a car that looks any way near as good. I love my Vette!!!
