OK, I just received my new Black Hurst shifter **** and got it on, except that there is about a half an inch of threads still at the bottom. This is on a stock shifter. It sure does not look good like that what has anyone done that has this ****, beside getting an aftermarkert shifter.
First put the jamb nut on the threads all the way down to the bottom. After you cut the top 1/2 inch off the stick, threading the jamb nut back up will clean up the threads for the ball. The ball will now sit a little lower and cover the threads as well as shortening up the throw.

just saw it off -- did it with my factory ball and it worked great.
Thanks for the reply. I had thought of that. I am also thinking of installing a B&M shifter. If I decide to stay with teh stock shifter, I will pull it out and cut it down a little.
