I don't get it because a very nice C5 Corvette can be purchased for the same price as a new Honda sedan. I certainly don't judge people by what they drive. However, how they drive is a different story...
I bought a house when I was 25, had a Street Rod and a late model stock car when I was that age so I know that you can do it on your own because I did. Don't worry about what others think and enjoy your life.
I love bragging on my son. Besides the 99' he bought in my previous post, he also bought his first car, a 78 vette (piece of junk) at 15 and a half with his own money. ($3,500). But he did drive it and it only broke down twice. He still has it. One time it broke because of a broken half shaft, I wonder how that happened?

As you get older - I won't say more mature because you already appear to be pretty mature for your years - you'll stop really caring what other people think. It's your life. If you're having a good time and not hurting anyone, WGAF what they think.
If you acquired your possessions honestly through hard work and saving your pennies - why do you care what other people think? Stop worrying about it and concentrate on the things that are important, like being a good human being, honesty and integrity.
I've dealt with this my whole life. I was 17 when I bought my 95 Camero Z28, 18 when I bought my first sport bike, and now I'm 27 and just bought my first Vette. People look at me and I swear all I can hear them say is "must by Daddy's car" or "sells drugs". Doesn't really bother me but I know that's what a lot of people think.
People don't realize that I've busted my *** since I was 15 and always liked fast things. I have a decent job, graduated college, and pay for my car with money I earn and report on a W-2 at the end of the year. If they don't believe that they can go ***** themselves
People will be jealous of you for lots of reasons. I'm jealous because I'm signing up for Medicare next month and you're the age I want to be. If you are in a position that no one is jealous of then you are in pretty bad shape. Just respond to all hand gestures with a smile and a wave and let them suffer in their own ignorance.
There is so much money out here in NYC, I get the opposite approach. I am closer to 50 and have a 99 C5. I always get asked when am I going to trade it in on a
C6 z-06 or Zr-1, or am I waiting for the C7 ??? Its like having an older Corvette just means you cant afford a new one, and a 99 is OLD…

No, I usually don't worry about what other people have, but a nice Vette, is a nice Vette regardless who drives it, or what age they are, and I will tell them "nice Vette." If I end in the company of a Lambo/ Porsche/ Ferrari, owner, I tell them the same thing, nice cars!
Simply put "today is better than yesterday, but no where as good as tomorrow will be.
Enjoy! You might not be here tomorrow. OR " grow up and get a life"
i guess im not the only 20 someting yr old to own on a vette(even tho around where i live there are more kids with lifted 4x4s than nice street cars). its refreshing to know that other people have the same experiences as me.
and to all, thanks for the encouraging words and kind thoughts. it takes a little refief off of me knowing that if someone cant own it they might as well hate on the person that has one.
im just glad i earned my vette and no one can take that away from me no matter what.
i am older now and i finally have my vette. but when i was 20, i used to see some old guy driving a vette and i would think "what a waste, that old guy can't possibly appreciate that car" . now i am that old guy. it seemed unfair to me that the corvettes were out of my price range. i just hope the younger folks today realize how lucky they are to be able to own c5, which is really a better car than yesterdays vettes. the fact that c5s are affordable means drivers of any age can find one in their price range.
I just picked up my Procharged C5Z last saturday... I'm SOO excited. I'm 25 years old, own a house (since 21), own my street bike, own my 2002 camaro (shooting for 600+rwhp), and should have the vette paid off by september.
I haven't been able to get anyone to wave at me yet. I'm sure I get the looks but I don't pay any attention to haters, although I do welcome them.
People at my work always question me as I drive nice cars and have toys to play with. Maybe if they worked as hard as I do for as long as I have they would have something similar.
