something that really erks me...
what is your first thought?
must be his daddys car? wonder what drugs he sells? i never had it that easy, i didnt own my vetter till i was much older. must be nice to have a mommy and daddy with money
im just curious because as a "younger" vette owner of 24(fixing to be 25 in october), i seem to get alot of the disgusted looks or have people more or less talk down to me when they see me pull up or notice me driving MY vette. that *I* pay for. and have worked to get with no ones help. even the insurance *I* pay is mine and mine alone.
and is it worse with other car owners? people who dont have vettes?
just wondering if anyone else has had this happen or if it gets on anyone elses nerves?
as fellow vette owners, do you maybe cut a younger person a break and give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they ARE responsible enough to own a 3 bed room house, a truck, drag bike, and vette. all before their 25th bday? and have all of it in their name?
i guess this is just me ranting because ive worked very hard to have the things i do and to be judged negatively for no reason just doesnt feel right to me...

People will hate, say its daddy's car, but hey, its jealousy. You know what such a persons curse is? They will have to live with themselves for the rest of their lives. Be above that. A normal person would be happy for you and not judge you saying "daddy's car, drug dealer etc". Keep on doing what you do, move forward, and dont look back on such idiots. My favorite line to someone giving me a stupid comment is in French: Tu est mal baisee, which means they aren't getting any a$$. Priceless is the look on their face as they breathe my uncatted exhaust fumes, whilst fuming of anger and jealousy as I drive away smiling!
i have thoughts sometimes but i always keep them to my self.
and im glad im not the only one gettting ahead and being responsible
and most times i usually rip out of the parking lot and they always look cause my catless exhaust is really loud

i guess some people are nice about things. especially little old ladys. ive taken a few for a nice cruise around the block because they told me theyve never ridden in a vette before lol
even had one tell me, " If only i was your age again.." and gave me a wink
and as far as coworkers go-my area manager has a 06 c6z06, his best friend who manages another area has 2 c6 verts, my room mate/co-worker had a 08 base, supervisor has a c4 and c5 z06
so im in good company and the last on the band wagon. i was looking for performace per dollar and i caught a deal i couldnt pass up on my 03 base. signed the papers and never looked back!!

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Never brag, don't begrudge another, don't throw rocks living in a glasshouse.
Don't worry about what people think about what you have or how you got it. Only worry about not being a douche, because that behavior is what will alienate you from very nice people that are not judgemental. Enjoy what you have but stay humble about it.

The only way I might think it's Daddy's car is if they are acting like an inexperienced A-hole and driving like they DON'T own it....in other words, abusing it somehow because they don't have to repair it.
Be proud....just smile and let the comments slip right off ya!

I got my first one (82 white/red with mirror tops) at 17. No, cheap irish dad didn't buy it for me. While everybody was partying, I started my own business at 16 with his help (his advice and mentoring was better than a handout!). So, needless to say, I loved to work, LOVED having money and TOYS, and got judged a LOT!
Currently have the 02', and yes, even at 27, I get the "punk kid" looks from time to time (why? the car's almost 10 years old!) But then again, I look and act like a kid. I get the same thing on my brand new streetglide as well.
My response? Well, I just tell them that if they did what I did at 16, then went to a Military Academy, traveled to over 30 countries as an engineer, lived in 3 of those countries, and made some of the sacrifices to my younger "partying life" that I have by the age of 27, then they would have had the big house, nice cars and SUVs, bikes, boats, and toys. It's that simple; it's all about the choices we make. You get out what you put IN! To some people's defense, I'm not married (g/f lives in MY house), NOR do I have kids......and i don't want any for a long time.
I learned everything from MY parents, who always had a lot but worked hard for every penny. Monkey-see-monkey-do.
Take it as a compliment and an act of their jealousy. Don't let it go to your head (NO ONE is better than anybody else) and you'll be just fine!
Keep working hard.
. So i work my *** off and now i own a Corvette
