Default Horn Location?

I need to know the horn location on these cars. I think one of them gave out because it sounds like one of them is not working, giving it a high pitched annoying tone Anyone ever hear of this?

Horn failures are fairly unusual. Its normally the membrane in the steering wheel that fails.

Here's a picture to help. Come at it from below the car.

Horn Replacement
Removal Procedure

Remove the right front fascia lower closeout panel. Refer to Close Out Panel - Front Bumper Fascia Lower in Bumpers.
Disconnect the horn assembly electrical connector.
Remove the horn assembly bolt.
Remove the horn assembly from the skid bar.

Installation Procedure

Position the horn assembly to the skid bar.
Install the aligning tab on the horn assembly into the hole on the skid bar.

Notice

Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Install the horn assembly bolt.
Tighten

Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
.
Connect the horn assembly electrical connector.
Install the right front fascia lower closeout panel. Refer to Close Out Panel - Front Bumper Fascia Lower in Bumpers.

Nice!

How was the installation? It looks like it could be a tight fit.

Where did you mount the relay?

Did you have to alter the factory electrical connector?

Sorry for the questions but I really likey!!!

it was a tight fit so I had to drop the plastic panel under the horn location to get access and lay underneath and reach up and say some bad words as stuff fell in my face

I made a simple strap type mounting bracket (3/4" wide by 6" or so long) bracket out of Lowe's strap steel with a hole in each end, and bolted it under the OEM horn bracket mounting hole on one end, and to the Griot mounting arrangement on the other end.

the Griot horn (and I'm sure others) comes with a relay. Got 12V feed from battery, signal from OEM horn wire, ground, etc from readily accessible places. Mounted relay in the battery area, but I'm sure you could find a more hidden location.

Very loud. Note you are supposed to point it down which I did

I have the same horn on my other 3 street legal vehicles, and can't live with a car that doesn't have a real loud horn.

When you need it, you need it.

Others are right on the location... Sounds like you might have some water in your horns... Check the orientation when you get in there, they should be pointed down...
