Wondering what this wire does...
There is a black wire that doesn't appear to be connected to anything that is in the back, bottom of the convertible top. Can anyone shed any light as to what this wire does???

Probably the release for the tonneau cover hatch if the battery is dead.

That wire is hooked to my flux capacitor. Sounds like yours been taken out.
On another note what side and can you take a pic.

It is a convertible. There is one on each side, neither connected to anything.

The only thing that comes to mind is rear defroster in that area but I am diving in my trunk in the Am to install some led lights and a mirror kit so I will definitely look and see if mine is connected to anything

Did you buy the car new or used. It may be some remnants of an old stereo system....??? Is there a connector on it?

I think it may be the defroster, that would explain why I have never noticed anything that didn't work properly. Never have used the defrosters, only drive the car when it is sunny and warm. Thanks!!

i have noticed those wires on my 04 convertible and have always assumed them to be for the rear window defroster "coils".
