Anyone handicapped doesn't belong in one. The reason for the parking spot is easy access to the building and such. There is nothing easy about getting in and out of a corvette. That being said if u can get your happy butt in and out of a corvette then you really aren't disabled and should maybe save the spot for someone who actually needs it
Yep as I said......good thing you're not in charge. people can still drive what they want, can't they?
Such as? If it was to put the owner down, you couldn't be a bigger jerk if you tried. Maybe he has a major illness and this vette is his last love in life. Jumping to conclusions is just wrong.
Such as saving the spot for someone who actually needs it and yes im around physically challenged people everyday. Come on now really you've never seen someone perfectly healthy park in a handicapped spot?
A person's disability is nobody's business. The vehicle a disabled person drives is nobodys business either. This particular C5 is registered to a disabled person and has every right to park in the handicap spot.
I wouldn't blink an eye if I were to see this at my local Olive Garden.
My mother has had a few heart attacks in the past and still has a heart condition. She is perfectly capable of getting in and out of a Corvette, and she does ride in mine when I take her to her doctor's appointments or when I treat her out to dinner.
She has a Handicapped placard that I use on my Vette when she is in it because although physically she can get in and out of my car, she cannot walk a great distance without getting tired.
Do you see this scenario ?
Same with my mom and her handi plate. I think Rooty spotted a tree but missed the forest, he'll understand...eventually

Seriously dude. lots of people with blood clotting issues, respiratory issues, or heart ailments are perfectly capable of driving a vette.
You need to grow up, I know more than a few handicapped people who would have knocked your teeth out if you tried to dictate what handicapped people can and cannot drive!
Ok guys you are getting the wrong impression of me here. The point of this was me stating I highly doubt the driver of the c6 was physically handicapped

Lol that wouldn't happen nor am I trying to dictate what people can or cannot drive.

Well, considering he has the plate I'd say his disability is more believable than your intuition.

It's actually a C6, but the point is correct. It's none of rootpooty's business who gets a handicapped tag. What's next, you can't drive a truck, or a Cadillac, or a Mazda? Sounds like jealousy over either the car or the use of the handicapped parking spot, I can't tell which. But to complain about it on a public Corvette forum without knowing the circumstances of the owner is hard to comprehend.

This isn't dictating who should and shouldn't drive a Vette?

It's actually my opinion everyone is entitled to one

a buddy of mine has an artificial leg from just below the knee. he has trouble walking very far but he can still ride. the manager of a local bar came to a bunch of us and said he had a complaint from a customer and whoever parked in the handicap space had to move right now. when he was shown the handicap plate on the bike he melted into a puddle right there in the parking lot.
complainers should know what they are complaining about before they speak.

jealousy or envy?
just get over it...you have no idea what this person might be going through...don't be to quick to judge.
I am a disabled vet from nam. I lost part of my tail bone and have problems with my legs now and then. I drive a c5 and you would come tell me it is wrong for me to have this car?

BITE ME!
My Uncle is also a Vietnam Vet who lost both his legs above the knees. He no longer drives sports cars, but back in the 70's he drove just about any kick-a$$ muscle car built including at least one Corvette. He used to have my Dad install his hand controls for him. My Dad was just talking about one of my Uncle's Challengers on Sun at a family event.
