I am a disabled vet from nam. I lost part of my tail bone and have problems with my legs now and then. I drive a c5 and you would come tell me it is wrong for me to have this car?
BITE ME!
The original owner of my vette was handicap due to losing his left leg in nam (car is an automatic). When i was younger i lost the ability to walk for well over a year, confined to crutches and a wheel chair. Nothing made my day better then when my dad would take me for rides in his 68 vette and 2000 nsx. We did have a handicap tag and he proudly hung it on his windshield when i was with him.
We are lucky we live in such an awesome country where free speach is allowed.
My wife has a double hip replacement and doesnt get around as good as one would like, so does that mean even though she can "with effort" get in and out of the C5 that she should park down in the back 40 cause some immature "pecker head" takes offense that a "handicapped" person drives or rides in a vette?
Khama is a real bit*h buddy, one's status in life can change within a split second! Why tempt it?
QUOTE=JJKJ;1578304441]My Uncle is also a Vietnam Vet who lost both his legs above the knees. He no longer drives sports cars, but back in the 70's he drove just about any kick-a$$ muscle car built including at least one Corvette. He used to have my Dad install his hand controls for him. My Dad was just talking about one of my Uncle's Challengers on Sun at a family event.
I think you made a bad ASSumption on this one.[/QUOTE]

WOW, I sure can say I have a new outlook on you.
I will remember this thread for some time.
Lost all respect.
I took this pic yesterday leaving the olive garden. In all honesty if I would've seen the owner I would've said something to them.
And you may very well made a fool of yourself as you did here. If that person has the plate they deserve the spot regaurdless what you think. Handicap people deserve to drive a vette just as much as you, if that's what they want. It's no harder getting in a vette than any other small car.
I think what is just plain stupid is this thread. My friend with scoliosis who doesn't get around real well used to own an '84 coupe up until a few years ago. He definitely needs and uses his handi tags. OMG....how dare he enjoy owning a Vette in his handicapped state. Sheesh...........

If I had a situation that caused me to loose a leg, or arm, you better believe that I would still drive my car, in fact you would have to cut off both of my legs, and both arms, and I would still find a way to drive my car.
There are to many handicaps out there and it is not any our business what those are, and you don't have all the facts on why they have those plates.
If I saw a Vette with handicap plates, I would say "COOL", because whatever there handicap is, it's not stopping them from driving there Vette

The driver could be able-bodied but blind.
The Chase Bank drive through ATM here is setup for braille, so there must be blind drivers out there somewhere
I think rootpooty won't be back in this thread, good roast though.
I hope he thinks about it and fixes his thinking.

I'm quite surprised that you made the assessment of what you saw without ANY facts, and then to say that a handicapped person doesn't belong in a Corvette was the epitome of being an A$$hat.
I think the first thing that you should do is retract your statements, then apologize to everyone who wasted their time in the thread that you started and then ask a moderator to close the thread.
Shame on you and I hope that you never find out what it means to have a physical disability. I too, have lost all respect for you. I'm putting you on my ignore list so that I don't have to ever read your nonsense again.
Opinions are like ******** well you know - but sometimes its better that an opinion is left unsaid. Some peoples perspective on issues such as this always amaze me as being so.....well uneducated. Oh yea....may I have my click back.

This has got to be right up there with the worst thread of all time, I can't believe you are ******* a handicapped. It's a sad day.
Where am I "*******" a handicapped? Just saying what I thought of this c6 parked in a handicapped spot. Kinda like a person collecting state aid but yet owning a corvette?

Do you know where our money comes from? I thought not. I have pain every day, but I choose to still have something in my life that means something to me.

Shame on me for what? For voicing my opinion that I highly doubt the driver of the most c6 was incapable of walking. You really wanna know what started this? A simple dinner with my grandparents and all the handicapped spots are taken and it was my grandmother who stated I highly doubt the driver thing.
Maybe you should have went and found him or her, and stole their wallet and ran, if they could catch you they are in the wrong. Then if they could not, then you were.
