Default racing a supra

My friend at work has a built supra and he is always trying to get me to run him. I tell him that its a major waist of time because I have nothing for him. Just wondering if anyone has had the plessure of running any supra's , I know they are fast and really mean cars because I have been behind the wheel on 18 psi and this thing is a monster. On race gas he runs about 33 psi and holy crap its mean and its a street car he drives to work. Just thought I would throw the question out there and see if anyone has had the plessure .

couple of things..it will greatly depend on how well the car is put together..and how well the tune is on the car...if all that is close to flawless.then you won't stand a chance...

I know I have no chance at all against his car , I just thought I would stick up a post and see if anyone has had the plessure or displessure of running one . His car is done right with no short cuts at all , its a beutifull car just way to deep pockets for me right now.

I ran a Supra with a simple "EMS" in Tucson. It was a fun race, that's all. But yes, there are some insane, sick monster Supras lurking the streets just waiting to dump on an unsuspecting Corvette, Ferrari, Lamborghini owner.

The fastest ride I came across, and luckily never raced, was a Twin Turbo Mustang GT with just over 1000 rwhp. Have you ever seen a nose of a car raise at 160 mph? I did....When he dropped down and got in boost and punched it at 155-160. From my understanding, he was pulling on 1100 series street bikes from a 100 mph roll race.

The technical (and mechanical) advances we have come from are incredible.

Some bad azz cars out on the street for sure.... To the other guy if he is not into boost befor 155 mph, he is not going into boost. Plus no way that he is going to have enough left in the car to do anything like that from 155 mph.

Tell him to go take on a TT or SC vette instead of something that is not modded like his machine. See how his diaper loads with something like that!!!

Supras can be built to put down a ton of power - and if done properly, are extremely quick cars. I'm not going to put mine up against a modded one.

Exactly! Dude sounds like a D-bag wanting to race a virtually stock corvette against his fully built 33 psi Supra. Whats funny is, you should get him to run at the 1/8 mi and buy some DR's and watch him get pissed off since he will either a.lose that race "if its an M6" or b. barely beat you since he won't get into boost until 3/4 of the way down the track. If its a stalled auto, baby Jesus have mercy on you.

I wanted a Supra before I got the vette but they are pricey. Dollar for dollar a Supra is better to mod then a vette. I see vettes every day I see a Supra a few times a year and they are still sexy for almost a 15 year old car. Not to many short blocks that where over built from the factory. I heart them.

he just wants to say he smoked your vette....guys like this pride themselves on taking some rice and modding it up to blow away sports cars like yours for bragging rights........at the end of the day you have a vette in your garage and he has a supra....personally I'd prefer the vette

I see comparisons like this rather pointless...how fast a car can go is not determined by the engine, but by who has the bigger pocket book! For arguments sake, a true test of man and machine shouldn't be just tested in the 1/4 but also on a road course.
