2002 ls1 350
Thanks
Tough call, go with your gut feel.
I love my '02 coupe. I would not trade it for a 'stang any time ..... but that's me. A Corvette C5 is WAY better than the equiviant 'stang IMHO.

if it's been treated well, the engine should last for many many more miles. has he changed the transmission and diff fluids per the recommended intervals as well? The transmission is probably the weakest link there, depends on how it was ran and maintained also.
13,500 is a great price though. That would be hard to pass up if it's in decent shape.
easiest mods with the most bang for the buck for a stock auto are:
Dyno tune (can be done along with any of the others, gears, stall, headers)
Gears (yours should have either the 2.73 or the 3.15). i put a 3.42 in my 2002 auto and love it. Some like the 3.73 as well.
Stall converter
Then after that:
headers
heads/cam
nitrous if you want to get crazy, but with a higher mileage car, would probably need some work done to shore it up for that
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

In the end it depends on what you want. Most of us laugh when we see a new stang trying to nose up when we are cruising. I will say, if you dont plan on getting your hands dirty and having a shop do everything for you the Vette will get expensive quick.

Thanks
(1) 5.0 Price $20,000+ - 2002 Vette $13,500
(2) 5.0 = 305 CID motor - 5.7 = 346 CID
(3) New 5.0 = New - 2002 age does not matter
(4) 5.0 weight 3600+ lbs - 2002 Vette weight 3245
(5) 5.0 Part $$$$= expensive - 2002 Vette Bolt On's etc. Very Cheap $
(6) 5.0 Sports Car = NO! - 2002 Vette it is truly a Sports Car
(7) 5.0 Handling not the best - 2002 Vette Factory suspension set-up is great
(8) 5.0 HP to weight Ratio
- 2002 Vette =
(9) Stock Vs Stock = the Vette wins hands down, the A4 is a great tranny and can be tuned too, you can put a set of 3.42's from a manual Vette in the rear and it will feel like a 100 RWHP increase (Over 2.73's) -
Check the codes on the Vette and see if it has the 3.15 Performance Rear end Gears, the code will be G90, G92 = 3.15 in the rear
A stock A4 with Bolt On's a tune, 2800 stall and 3.15 or 3.42's will run 12.2's and with a little more massaging it can run even lower times all day long
the 5.0
not too sure
These are just a few comparisons

Honestly if you are looking at 11+ 5.0L, why not just pay a few thousand more for a really nice low mileage 06ish GT500? 550 hp is a hell of a lot of fun for $27,000.
