I've had my nt05's on for 15k miles. The fronts are worn to the indicators and the rears need replacing. The tires are noisy now, sounds like a mild a/t tire and rides "bumpy". Even when they were new, the tires would not catch traction in any part of 2nd gear. I can roll into the throttle and the tires would still start spinning. Forget about 1st gear. They do perform well in the rain and are good at cornering with minimal roll.
BTW, my car is stock.
Agree, I have the NT05's in 285/30/18 and 335/30/18 and they are great in corners and rain, but with 648 rwhp I feel like I am still launching on ice. Had the Continental extremes before that and they about killed me (they came on the car when I bought it...those tires were horrible for this car/hp). Only have a couple thousand miles on mine and they ride great as a daily type tire. I can't seem to "not spin" until I actually hit about 90 mph. Just my .02 since I saw you posted yesterday.
LOL! With 650 RWHP there aren't very many tires in any size that would help you out. I believe at 500 RWHP you start to lose the option of conventional tires.
For you, you might want to look into some NT05-Rs. I know someone making around 800 RWHP on those in a 315 and he starts to hook somewhat around 2nd gear. For you, they might hook a lot better.
