The deal has been finalized! Some of you may remember my first posts a few weeks back asking some questions. Thanks so much for all your replies to my stupid questions, but I'm learning, so bear with me.
So I am, or my parents rather, (Their money) the proud new owner of a '98 Corvette with an M6 tranny, and with just a few clicks over 60,000 miles, and all for just 15 grand. It's like a dream come true, and I couldn't be happier. And before you say you think I'm too young to have a corvette (16) I would like to respectfully say in advance, that I don't care if you do.
Anyways, the pics are from the dealer, because lets face it, their pictures are much better than any i would have taken with my phone. Unfortunately, however, I won't be picking up the car until next Thursday, because I'm leaving in the morning up to Monterrey to check out the Concours d'Elegance
16 years, well, well, a few things you may need to know, keep the foot light on the pedal, pretend Dad is always sitting next to you and remember, most men on this forum waited years raising a family driving Datsuns, Colts and Hondas until they could afford one of the best Corvette on the market, makes us proud and drive her with care... also enjoy this forum... My first car at 16 was a Dodge Dart slant 6 225 c.c., you are very lucky young man, very lucky..

Thanks for your words of wisdom. I know I have many years of experience to catch up on compared to the vast majority of members here haha, but I like to think I'm a very responsible driver, and that I respect the car enough not to do anything stupid with it. That isn't to say that an occasional flooring of the gas pedal won't happen on occasions, when there is an empty straight of road that might cross my path (Which isn't easy to come by in SoCal, mind you)
My son bought a 78' vette at 15. Probably 185 horsepower, no problems. He bought a 6 speed 98' while home on leave from the army at about age 21. Had it a week, thought the traction control would control the traction, ended up in the tree's totaled. Has had a 99' for the last 6 years, no problems. Please don't learn the hard way. Enjoy but don't underestimate the power, only takes a second to get away from you. Oh, very nice looking car!
Looks great, Congrats.
If it's a 98, you received a little benefit from the previous owner(s) as the chrome exhaust tips and 5 spoke polished rims have been added, The factory stock 98 had none of those.

Congrats! I got my first vette when I was 21 (a '73 coupe). Be proud of it and be safe. Thank your parents by being a very responsible teenager.
Good luck and welcome to the forum.
Responsible and teenager are rarely ajoining words. To the new owner...defy the odds and become the exception rather than the rule...drive safely, be considerate of other drivers, and good luck to you with that wonderful Corvette.
A vette as a first car is a mistake at 16 years old. I don't blame you for taking it but I would have to question the wisdom of giving a 16 year old a Vette. I'd make you work at McDonalds and drive a used Toyota Corolla to learm what lifes all about. Nothing personal young man. Just reality.

Those cosmetic changes make the car look even better.
Congratulations! You seem like a mature young man and you are very fortunate to have parents who trust you with a car like this. I am sure you have earned that trust.
I have a grandson in El Segundo who is also very responsible and mature. He will be 16 in December and is learning to drive.
I remember being young and seeing all of the grey-haired old farts driving vettes and thinking what a waste it was that they had them and I didn't. How could someone that old possibly know what to do with such a fine car? I guess you are getting ready to find the answer to that question. It looks like you found a really nice car. Congratulations!!
