I would be very careful here... Dont know anyone named Phil.. If they have been selling them from that website, why has nothing been updated.. the prices on the website are 6 years old.. where did they get the molds from.. why is there no information on them anywhere on the internet??? Even the webdeveloper no longer exists and the copywrite on the design was out of date in 2005.. Mike bought that lifetime Domain name back in 1998 for 100 dollars, thats the only reason that website is still avilable.

I am not sure what you are getting and like I said... there is no information on that website that is up to date.. When MCM was in operation they had a waiting list that was 3 months deep... So you said you ordered a genuine Carbon fiber vaccum formed hood last week and it is coming on Wednesday. Everyone I know that got a MCM hood had to wait 6 to eight weeks to get theirs... I would like to know what this hood cost you... mine was 1500 dollars and 200 for shipping 8 years ago. Carbon fiber has trippled in cost since then...
Do you know the weight of this hood?
My hood weighs 43 pounds... its ten pound lighter than a stock C5 hood.. My MCM hood is DOT approved and designed to split apart and not engage the windshield in a front end impact. If you check this forum You will see that lots of people have been searching for this hood to no avail... MCM hoods went out of business in 2006. People have been lookig for them ever since.. I cant find any evidence that a new MCM company has resurfaced.. How can this company be selling hoods when they have no active website?

Dont Know if I have it??????? I helped create that site... the copywrite on that site expired in 2005 ... look at the copywrite at the bottom of the home page.
Ive already posted my comments on that site... I helped Mike with it... You didnt answer any of my questions.. cost, weight , is it a true vacuum formed Carbon fiber hood....
If anyone is questioning my concern.. just go to the website.. you will click on the news tab, and see nothing has been changed since 2005, those prices are 6 years old... Some said they talked to someone... But still there is no evidence anywhere that a new MCM company has resurfaced...
OK Im done with this thread.... I tried to tell you that that website you keep referring too is anchient history. Why didnt you answer any of my questions on cost, weight, etc and how could you buy anything sight unseen? Why would anyone spend 2 grand on a hood without having any physical evidence , photo, discription, etc of an actual hood, on a website somewhere that is New. Not a website 6 years old without a single update in the last six years. They refer to guys that are dead and on their death bed. The End

I guess I will see soon. It is supposed to arrive wednesday to my body shop. I have purchased a MCM hood before back in 2004 on a previous car that had a maggie on it, so I know the quality I will be expecting of the MCM hood. I had considered ordering one about 2 years ago and spoke to the same gentleman I spoke to this time. I was told they had moved to a new facility and still trying to get the molds settled in to the new buildings humidity levels therefore were having trouble keeping up with orders at that time. The hood price has just increased from1895.00 to $1995.00 but he gave me the 1895.00 since I am a previous customer. The hood is said to be about 10 pounds lighter than stock and is the same vaccum mold. He said he has a back log on the maggie style hoods but had a few ready to ship of the regular high rise hood.

Man for Pete sakes be patient, not trying to start any crap or anything. A copy of the e mail I got from MCM this morning:

Benny,

Thank you for your order and I am sorry you have had a bad experience with the other supplier. Attached is our invoice where you will see that we will charge the shipping & handling at the time of shipment. The best rate we have had today is with USF Holland making the S & H $259.40, with the way the freight companies vary their rates we charge actual at time of shipping.

Also attached are some pics of our C5 hoods where you will see a typical underhood treatment.

I will let you know as soon as the hood is ready fro shipping.

Phil

If yu have any other questions, perhaps you should contact them directly. I'm just trying to get a hood for my car!!! Did not expect all this.

Look, my main purpose here is to try to make sure that no one here gets taken... My questions were legitimate... No website that is active etc..... If They can deliver the same hood, then that is great.... Ive been close to Mike for along time starting back in the 1990's... I saw no physical evidence anywhere, that MCM company was up and running. IM curious as to where they got their mold from because, Mike sold the only molds he had to Ecklars and Breathless performance.
Good Luck with your purchase.. if its the same hood from the same mold, you can not buy any better...
Please understand I know alot about MCM history, even back to when Mike was making and designing body panels for the 1990's factory Corvette Racing team. I also know that when Mike sold the molds to Ecklars and BBP they had to sign an agreement Not to call them an MCM hood.
Again Good Luck

Who is him??? Is it carbon fiber? " what did you pay for it? If it wasnt around 1600 to 1800 dollars then its not a genuine MCM hood.
How was the fit?

does it look like this ?

There is no back and forth... an email was produced stating prices and delivery, type of hood and process used... If you read the last few post you would see that all seems ok. It took a while to produce some ( in Print ) verification... to me a phone call from some guys is not any proof.

Guys did not intend to open a can of worms here. I really do not care what the hood is called. As long as it is a good product, fits as it should and funtions as expected. The can call it a "clinton flat boob" for all I care. Just want a good piece for my ride.

I have no interst in any politics of the situation past or present, and hope the guy who is ill, gets better or is as comfortable as possible.

I'm just a guy who enjoys a cold beer, a fine set of hooters, and strong, good looking Vette, nothing more, nothing less!

Best to all
