MCM Hood
The top side looks very nice as expected. Took some pictures with my phone to try and show the underside as best I could.Signed- a jealous man
Are you going to be able to remove the glue prior to clearing the CF? I want the under side of mine to look as good as the top side.
I going to order mine Monday.

The glue is very tough. Don't think we will be able to remove it but most will get covered on the edges where the Cf seams are by taping just enough to cover the glue in the seams.

As far as the hood goes.. the new one should weigh the same as the old one at 43 lbs.Correction The original MCM hood weighs 10 lbs less than the stock hood @ 22 lbs. Stock hood with liner weighs 32 lbs. I apologise for giving the wrong information in this post.Of course this hood is expensive, and it may take many people out of the choice to purchase this hood. If this hood is as good as the old one..If you can afford to get it, you wont be sorry. There was ZERO fitment.. it bolted right up with no adjustments needed like many after market hoods.. some requiring 8 to 10 hours work just to get it to fit..
Good luck, with you hood purchase
I can offer a few insights to my involvement with this hood...
Think twice about clearing the underside because the raw carbon fiber is so deep because of the weave that it will take a few gallons of clear to fill in the weave.. and when done, In my opinion, it looks like peanut brittle.. I chose not to clear the underside, and when I show people the raw carbon fiber, the seem impressed with seeing real raw carbon fiber.. also the other key point is this.. if you have a light colored car, you should make sure that the area under the rise ( the part you see from inside the car ) in the center of the hood.. Is painted black... Ive seen this area painted the same color as the car and from the cabin it looks like the hood was in an accident, and was repainted.. having this area painted black make it look like you are looking right into the engine bay.. If you look at my hood in torch red, you can see what I mean about painting this area black.. Ive had a few member tell me they were sorry they didn't do it that way, after I first posted this tip..
Ill show you the raw carbon fiber and you can see the area in black that I'm talking about, Ill also post a picture from inside The cabin and a look at this blacked out area.
Note the blacked out area in the center of the hood at the cowl area, as viewed from the cabin
