As I have been reporting for years that Borla has drone at cruise speed... Even the Borla Representative agrees with this.. it has been there all along..And like all those Borla owners who are just in denial, after all they all made the decision to buy them and now have taught themselves to live with them... If you do not do any highway driving Borlas are fine..I feel that this announcement from Borla only goes to show that they have redesigned their system to match what Corsa has been doing for 13 years. At the time we were looking for an aggressive exhaust for the Indy pace car, one without any drone at cruise. Corsa taught us alot of things about exhaust shaping..
Everything is a trade off.. you can not have great Idle, great WOT and great cruise with no drone.. to eliminate the drone you have to limit the idle tone, ... conversely increase the idle tone, and you increase the cruise drone.. Corsa knew this 13 years ago.. So did Borla, this isn't secret stuff.. Borla bet on people wanting a great aggressive muscle car idle and were willing to allow drone at cruise to achieve this.. Corsa Bet on people wanting any drone.. and have advertised this with their lifetime guarantee. This is not a revelation.. I have been reporting this for over ten years here on this forum..
Driving around town with Borlas is fine because you are constantly changing speeds/rpm...So you don't notice it, But if you have a steady diet of 70 mph on a highway for an hour or so, you will pay for it.. I know many who get sever headaches from this drone after an hour, I also know of many people who bought them and now their wife refuses to get in the car.. which for some could be a plus... There is nothing more uncomfortable to hear than this drone while trying to carry on a conversation while driving down the highway for a few hours.

i don't think you should assume that someone like me is in denial of anything, or portray me to others as such. my wife and i do some pretty good road trips in my car. usually find the windier twistier back roads to make a cool trip getting there, then just blow home on the highway. never has either one of us had to raise our voices to speak to each other let alone have a headache, or even utter the slightest complaint about the exhaust. i've always had the urge to change wheels or exhaust on my machines after awhile just because it seems like a change is due. with this car and the stingers, my wife says "why would you want to change something that sounds so good?" and i say something like "yes honey you're probably right, i'll start looking at wheels then."
i will say that i haven't had an experience with the corsa extreme system yet. i would like to check that out up close and personal. if i understand correctly they have a much deeper-aggressive tone than the pace cars [?].
Suppose the exhaust sounds pleasant while cruising at 60 mph, but at about 62, the exhaust sound in the cabin begins to get louder. At 65 it becomes so loud, one has to shout in order to be heard by the passenger. At 70, the sound reduces, and by 75 the sound returns to the level it was at 60.
That's drone. That's like your audio system sound like crap only between 65 and 70 mph, but normal either above or below that speed.
With that being said I tested mine out today on the interstate. WOT it was loud in the cabin and that was to be expected. I cruised around in 6th gear for about 20 minutes and the fastest I went was 72. The volume didnt fluctuate at all and I didnt have to turn the radio up any louder...it sounded like it should sound. I guess that means I dont have any drone but the B&B Bullets arent known for their lack of drone. I will say that at about 5000RPMs it gets loud enough that the sound waves cause my inner ears to tingle.
