...then you should probably mention that there are more current or newer designs that have a (digitally, I believe) controlled wattage increase when the cutoff shield solenoid is activated, making the miramoto far from the top of the bi-xenon food chain.
Jus' sayin'...
Reading comprehension - lets try to use it.
I never compared the Morimoto to other bixenon projectors. I simply stated that the Morimoto is a fantastic projector in its price range.
That wattage increase crap is a gimmick. P.T Barnum has a good quote for people that swear by the wattage increase crap...

Ahhhh, but you were making comparisons...
And I was simply widening the comparisons and certainly wasn't swearing by or endorsing one retro-fit over another.
Ultimately, I think we agree on the topic of better lighting, no?
I wish you success in your choice of retro-fit and look forward to finished pictures
i am also not a fan of people who put them in stock housing. even if you aim them "right" you will get stray light that goes into other peoples eyes.
i installed a set of the projector "knockoffs" and never looked back. i used 55w ddm HID's and what a difference compared to stock lighting. honestly the stock lights on this car are comparable to my beater civic which is really sad.
the install is very straight forward. just make sure you have everything grounded before you go turning anything on... there should be 2 grounds IF you use a relay (which you should) its much more reliable and much more efficient if you do so. its plug and play really, i had my old headlights out, installed the hid kit including ballast bulbs etc and reinstalled the knockoff projectors in less then an hour total.
If you did this in one hour, you must have been doing one side with your left hand and the other with your right. Not saying it can't be done but you must have amazing skill. ...the lights look great

this was not the first car ive installed hid's so i know exactly what i need to do when wiring. like i said it took about 1 hr to complete. i was fighting the sunlight (was getting late) so i had to work fast.

They arent knockoffs they are on ebay for 230 shipped real ACA's. Type in "corvette c5 projectors" you can get them in chrome or black I got black paid 210 shipped(I won a auction)

I installed the ACA's and it took me several hours and I consider myself somewhat mechanically inclined. I would like to watch someone do this in an hour.
