Hi,

My name is Jaap from the Netherlands, a week ago i bought a 2000torch red c5 frc. It`s a great car, ik love it. I put about 500 miles on it this week.
The car was exported to the netherland in 2009
I`m trying to find the first owner. Can you help me?
i found a vehicle registration under the passenger seat. It has the following numbres:

950BXJ
96289489
[SIZE="5"]12 08
Williamson Y5105617.

This is the frc, hope you like it. And i do hope you can give me good advise finding the first owner, owners.

Thanks,
Jaap

It will probably be difficult but you could start by ordering an original window sticker from the National Corvette Museum. They will need the VIN number from your car. The window sticker will tell you who the car dealership was that ordered the car in the first place. You may then be able to contact the dealership to see if they could be of any help. The dealer may not want to give you a name because of privicy laws here but he may be able to see if the customer would be willing to accept a contact from you. Good luck and let us know if you find the original owner or owners.

It is a nice car! I've noticed several lately with the "door bump" guards on them like this one. Is this a GM thing, or aftermarket?

Are you talking about the side moldings on the door? A factory option.

Ask if they're a "good" thing and you'll have an argument on your hands...

O.K., I didn't know if they were an option or not. I don't especially like the looks, but I could see where they would be very functional. (been having to park in spots I don't particularly like the past couple of weeks.......worried about door pecks.)

I`ve been thinking about your suggestion, but i wanted to try this forum first. Trying to save me a view bucks...
I believe the frc was in Georgetown Tx. That`s what the guy who sold the car to me said
Perhaps anyone in that area knows the car?

Welcome to the Forum jaap. Hope you find the info you need. Maybe one of the Forum dealers could run a GMVIS check for you and you could then check with the dealer who sold the car.

Quite a few of your fellow countymen attend our Corvette Annuals Meeting here in UK.

I tried to find the first owner of my car. I have the window sticker and know where it was delivered to. Then it was dealer transfered to Sacramento. Called that dealer and he had all of the "repair" information but nothing about the owners, as the other person said privacy laws, dealer said all that information is gone. Car Fax only showed "owners" no names. Like you, I am stuck and will never know who my first owner was. That being said, considering you have a c5 you may want to post this on the c6 side as the person probably would have bought a c6 rather than another c5...know what I mean. Good luck really and hope you find them, keep trying.
