That comment was just to give a scare warning to deter one from just jumping out there and buying anything from EBay on the chance occasion you didn't select the "premuim" product guaranteed to hold a quart of oil and never sputter another drop of oil into the intake opening.
It's just a catch can.... empty it when it gets full or otherwise it allows the oil to go where it always went in the first place...into the intake manifold, just like it originally did.
Wait a minute!! I'm getting lost. The oil the catch can gets normally goes INTO the intake manifold to be burned with fuel? I somehow got the impression that the oil was pooling on top of the manifold.

Regardless if its at the top or bottom the can will have to be removed to drain. Really not hard at all, disconnect the inlet/outlet hose, remove the can from the bracket and drain, voila!

The top of the manifold provides a large surface area onto which oil droplets can settle. However, there is still plenty of airborne oil droplets that make their way into the combustion chamber.
Hey sfc rick which is the the inlet the top or bottom? i order the same one. the inlet is the bottom nipple and the outlet is the top? am i correct?
I bought a stainless steel kitchen mesh scrubber at the grocery store and inserted it into the can. This way it also helps catching more oil vapor and droplets using this media inside the can. The mesh thing cost me .79 cents.

That truly is a nice looking catch can...very unique....I like...now if a vendor can make a complete kit for the C5 (with an option for a red colored top), I'd seriously consider buying one....
