To those with the shale interiors
Looking at a blue 'vette vert with the shale interior. I think it's a darn good lookin' car! I want a light colored interior as I'm a wuss when it comes to hot days and that top WILL be down a lot!
Those that have this interior, is there much glare from the dash on sunny days on the windshield from the inside?
I guess sittin' in one with greasy jeans is a no no...

I've never noticed any problems with reflections or anything else. They will clean just like any other leather. I particularly bought my second AE convertible due to the shale interior. I only looked for AE or CE cars because of that and I've been very happy with both cars.

i have an 04 commemorative convertible and agree with the above comment. if you decide to polish the dash with any type of "armorall" type product, you will fight a glare problem. i live in south florida and really don't experience a problem with glare off the dashboard. reading the HUD in bright sun even turned all the way up is a different story, however as it disappears pretty quickly in the bright sun. i love the color combination and when i was shopping for my C5, it was the only one i was considering. check the for sale section here there is a one owner florida car in that color combination (actually not lemans blue but very close to it). 2000 convert 6 speed, 26k miles brand new tires, etc. for a decent price. i know the owner, he is a lifetime corvette owner, **** about his cars and this car is perfect. he bought a C6. that is his only reason for selling it.

I haven't noticed any and 95% of the time the top is down.

Shale and then there's shale. . .
When I bought my 2003 50th. Anniversary coupe I noticed that the interior isn't really shale, but more of a mix of gray upper and light blueish lower sections to the interior. But to your question , I've never had a 'Glare' from the dashboard. Maybe from the nice polished finish, but not from the grayish dashboard. Hope it helps !

Love having one of the only two C5 vettes that do not have a black dash ! Had an 02 and traded it to buy this one. And no, no problems with glare.

The dash is the darker neutral color.
