Saw it all on TV, very unfortunate series of events.
Hopefully the safety improves in IndyCar with the new 2012 car Wheldon was testing, I've always thought the current cars were a little flimsy compared to F1.
Myself & my wife were there & met several drivers including Dan Wheldon. The silence in the stands & pits that lasted two hours was erie! sad day. No party @ Neon Garage just a lot of very sad people.

Dan's loss is a terrible thing to swallow. He was one of the true Ambassadors of the sport and a devoted family man.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family
RIP Dan
My wife and I attended Las Vegas. We are big IndyCar fans and I AM a big Fan of Daniel Clive Wheldon. It is such an odd feeling. We were at the Saturday fan event, listening to Dan host a web based Q and A session, then he signed autographs and and generally hung out with the IndyNation group. I had a 2011 Indy 500 cap that he signed and we got our picture together. The next day he was gone.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Susie and his two small sons. It is so sad that the kids will never get to really know their father and what a champion for racing he was.
