The car was tuned prior to our intake. It was a direct comparison of intake vs. intake.

The only thing that must be re-calibrated are the MAF Low And MAF High tables since the two MAF sensors are completely incompatible as far as the MAF transfer curve.

This shows the OLD Killer Bee, not the larger 4" Killer Bee II, but you get the idea.

Can you elaborate on the 20rwhp+ gains on a stock or bolt-on ls6 motor?

Thanks for posting, but per your previous post I'm looking for the 20rwhp+ gains on a stock or bolt-on ls6 motor.

We have seen similar increases over stock on the C5 LS6 motor.

They don't exist unless the CAI includes a free dyno tune. And the. CAI wouldn't be the reason for most of the gains if they did.

Our intakes for the C5 make approximately 10 to 12 RWHP on the stock Z06, and then only when the super heat soak of the dyno does not pull timing and add fuel to overcome cat heat.

That's the honest truth.

24 RWHP is pretty typical when combined with a good tune. The power split is around 50/50 on a stock LS6 between the AIS and tune.

I guess we could post the GM High Tech and Performance dyno testing done by ECS a few years ago on our Venom intake for the C5, but that was +36.5 RWHP, and that is virtually impossible with just an intake. Yet the numbers were validated by ECS, who did the dyno and are not at all affiliated with Halltech, and the editor of GMHT&P who was a witness to the before and after. The Venom II has since replaced the Venom, uses the stock MAF meter, rather than the conversion to the LS7 MAF as was done by Brian above.

Thanks for clarifying. When you said you had seen similar gains for a ls6 I had doubts as I had your product and dont believe I gained 20rwhp+ from it. I do agree that 10-12rwhp could be gained on most cars, plus about the same amount from a tune. Regarding the big hp gain of that one test, I stated this in an earlier post as well:

I think ECS did this, because Chris or Doug chimed in saying they didn't change anything. I have a hard time believing 30rwhp+ can be replicated and its likely an anomaly, but variations do exist.

Again I find it hard to believe that similar (say 20rwhp instead of the 24rwhp) gains can be attained with just the intake on a mostly stock c5 ls6 motor. If so, more power to Halltech - that's a great product.
