Seems like the tape is fine, but I'm going to take a chance here. I also think the prices for these items are pretty high. (Hope I don't get banned for stating that)

The tape works fine and the plate is easily removable when you want to change the look with a different plate.
Just get some fishing line or dental floss and with a sawing action cut through the tape from one end to another.
IF you are hoping to keep or sell the old plate make sure you have a soft towel /foam etc under it when the tape is sawn thru so that the face of the plate does not get scratched.
Some plates use an actual OEM C5 cross flags emblem. Those emblems by themselves run around $75.
the vendors have to give their first born to GM to license the logo. I went to that auction site and bought a blank stainless plate for about $10, just put on whatever sticker you want.
