Default Dummy Question

Some cars seem to have a stripe down the side of the car coming out of the gill slit. I haven't noticed that it is pertinent to certain years or packages. What is this?

I believe you are referring to the BSM (Body Side Moldings) which were a factory option. There are many post on these as far as love or hate them. They are not just a simply line, but a raised molding that is held on with double sided tape.

Seems to be more "hate'm" "than love'm" here!! MANY how to remove them threads than how to install them!!!Kind of indifferent to them myself,,,,BUT I"m glad mine did NOT have them when I bought it!!!

Exactly what I meant. Thank you. I was just curious if it was an option or if I needed an eye exam. Thanks!

That's what makes the car sexier. It's the best factory option one can have. Glad mine had them, or the deal would have been off.

If you like BSMs you'll love a spoiler and coffee can exhaust.

Hell, I'm trying to give mine away in the Seattle area and nobody wants them.

Personally, I think they are uglier then me.

I've only had my 03 for a couple of months, but today while washing it I really took notice to the BSM on the side and noticed how it really added to the lines on the car. Until I read this post I thought it was a stock piece. I guess everybody has their own opinion but comparing them to a spoiler and coffee can exhaust is maybe a little bit of a stretch. I'm not being thinned skinned, just givin my 2 cents.

Stay here long enough, and you'll find out the the topic of BSMs has been covered many times and solicits a lot of opinions from members. I happen to like the looks of them, but it really is a personal like or dislike.

A few beers later...

Ahhhhhhhh.

I'd had the car for almost a whole week before I was able to get them off!

Wouldn't have noticed one way or the other when I bought my car. But like the lines much better without.
