Not trying to p*ss anybody off but if you like the look of a fixed roof coupe why would you not buy a Z06? I know a lot of people rave about an FRC but I don't get it.

If you dont have another $7,000 to add to your budget, thats almost another $125.00/mo. added to any finance, then you look at an FRC.
If you can find me a zo6 under $20,000 with low mileage, and a low mileage zo6 is not under 50k miles, then let me know so I can get it

Man, Neither dealer will budge an a$s hair. I hate stealerships
so its 17,000 for a 2000 FRC with 44,000 miles (4owners)
or 23,000 for a 2002 coupe with 29,000 miles (2 owners)
Maybe I should lay low and wait til after christmas

Forget the dealerships and used car lots. Broaden your search to autotrader, craigslist, ebay, this forum, or even google "corvettes for sale in (your location)". I found mine on a craigslist add.

idiots. If you really like one of the cars, then make a firm bid that you are comfortable with and then walk out. There are lots more out there, Slam. Drop back after Xmas if you feel like it.

Production numbers and the fact you can get to the same HP for way less money than the difference of the two in price.

17 for the 2000 FRC with 44K is not too high IMO. Most of us gave around that. I gave less but mine had 67K on it. I have a 99, which there really isn't much difference if any. I have only one option, a trunk net. And my paint is bubbled in places.

I honestly didn't realize Z06's still went for as much as they do. Now I get it!

An 00 FRC owner here,,and love it to death!!Price seems reasonable especially considering the mileage.Only real issue for it is basic C5 manual issue of the column lock that is rectified with a CLBColumn Lock Bypass) available from many vendors here.A few minor points,,not really issues are 1.older style TPMS(tire pressure monitoring system) unites,,more expensive replacements than newer ones. 2.Older style EBCM the computer that controls antilock and active handling,,newer ones less expensive and rebuildable. These are the things that readily come to mind,,and are not deal breakers as they are not everyday occurrences, with exception of the TPMS,,EVENTUALLY the batteries will go,,but there are DIY threads here to replace the batteries for low bucks. These cars run and handle great,,and IMO,,ride great and make great road trip cars!!Just for general principals,,I'd have to get SOMETHING off asking,,and THEY need to sell it,,YOU can find others. I'd offer $16,$16.6,tell them it's a serious offer, and leave my phone #!! Even at asking,,not a terrible price!! Good luck,,enjoy if you get it!!

interest rate to finance the 2000 FRC was insane. I decided to look into cars 2007 and newer. I am now looking and have a deposit on a 2008 black c6 with 7800 miles on it. its a one owner 4LT package that is going for $35000. Seems like a really great deal. Only thing is its an automatic. So it makes the wife happy. May be my only chance at getting one. What do we think of this deal?

No offense. This is only my opinion and I tend to think differently than the majority of people but, If you can't afford to buy a $15k car, why do you think it would be a better idea to buy a $35k car.

Your logic and reasoning make no sense. You don't want to pay a higher interest rate on a $15k loan (a couple of grand in interest over a 3 or 4 year term), yet you're willing to take out a loan for $20k more with subsequent interest charges?

Unless you have a really kickass job and lots of disposable income you will be kicking you own *** by year 3 or 4 into this loan. Remember that the interest is heavy into the early years of the loan and you will be upside down in this thing for a while at least. As long as you go into it with your eyes wide open it's all good.

Depends on your income and budget. Personally speaking, you could make the same payment on the 2000, as you would the 08, and have it paid off pretty quick so as the interest rate was a non factor.

And I believe most car loans are simple interest, so they aren't interest heavy in the beginning years. At least all of mine have been.

BUT, I suppose it would also depend on the interest rate. 20%? yeah that's too much. But if you have good credit you can get probably 10% at JJ Best, I think is the name of them. Credit Unions are another great source.
