I only fill up with Chevron and Shell (Chevron 90% of the time).

When I bought my car current I used 1 bottle of Techron just to be safe. Aside from that I haven't needed it. I used it all the time in my 02 Z, though, but I was just being paranoid.

What is with some of you people? I responded to your post with a question, and you can't answer it? Instead you 'default' to 'newbie go to search' so you don't have to type too much? I DID a search after your kind 'recommendation' and found nothing to explain why Techron is needed. The only answer I got was from JMRose.

OK, I have a question on this. It just so happens yesterday I got the Low Fuel Warning and the gauge went to zero. I need to change the oil so I pickup the buy one get one free. These bottles are 20 oz and it says to pour the entire bottle in to a near empty 20 gal tank and then fill up. Well I had a bout 3/4 of a tank before I went out yesterday and the trip most likely got me close to a 1/2 tank. Should I only use half a bottle and see if that clears it or the whole bottle?

If you have half a tank, pour all of the bottle in and fill the tank completely. It will mix.

Don't start separating parts based on how much gas is in your tank. The reason they tell you to pour it in first THEN fill up is so that people don't over fill their tanks.

If you're half down, empty the bottle into the tank and fill up. it's that simple.

"Some of YOU people"? and thats supposed to mean what?...some day grasshopper you will learn that since you have been here a measley 4+ months and you have asked a question/topic that has been discussed thousands of times previously...a search on "Techron/additive, etc. will lead you to dozens of threads telling you why you should use Techron...Even GM recommends and sells Techron with their name on the bottle...practice on more searching before you get your panties in a bunch

...and also never let your tank/s run below 1/4 or you will burn up your fuel pump eventually...the gas keeps the pump cool...you can put in Techron anytime...so if you use the large bottle put it in first or closer to last(easier to put it in first rather than last)...it all gets constantly mixed from tank to tank...
and what SMC said in red...
