It's a friend offering me the car for that price which is why it's so low.

Do it!!!!!

Great deal for a great car. I had the opportunity to ride in 2 different C6Z's on a local race track (passenger seat of course). 160 mph over a hill is fun. I couldn't get the grin off my face. I would love to have one, but I would miss the targa top.

Sounds like a great price.
Read sticky on c6 Z06 forum about rocker arm failure on 2007 cars built between Jan. of 07 through Jul. of 07.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...ngs-issue.html

Has the car had the rocker arms upgraded?

re the Z06 bone stock, I'm assuming its a 1LZ? In any event, I'd take the Z anyday if its stock versus a modded supercharged C5. JMHO
I have to agree, you start having problems and can't tell the Machanic what has been changed.

This is a no brainer - that is a SMOKING deal on an 07 ZO6, with that kind of mileage.

Shouldn't even be a question...

C6Z06 all the way. You never know what you are getting when you buy a fully built car.

I'd go C6Z. Much more refined power then someone else's buildup. But it depends what your use for the car is. Are you just taking it to car shows and that's it? If you can find the shop that installed the SC and tuned it and think they do good work then maybe it would be cool. But not for more money then the C6Z. If you want to drive it and maybe even race it the C6Z being stock will be much more reliable and you can upgrade as you go along. If something breaks though it's just a vette and not a custom creation that no one knows how to work on.

If you are serious though test drive both and see what really gets you going.

Good luck!

How was the quality of the work performed on the C5? How many miles were put on the C5 since the work was done? How was the C5 driven after all the work was performed? Regular street car or 1/4 mile at a time? Was there any supporting work done to the C5, such as clutch, tranny, brakes and suspension beefed up to handle the extra power reliably? Does the C5 drive like a car that can be driven on the street or is it kind of hairy? Which do you like driving better? I wouldn't buy anyone's modded car myself. But if the C5 was stock I would take that over the C6 anyday based on price alone. But a C6 Z would be nice. But I'm not all that fond of the C6 style myself. And I can't quite put my finger on why.

Looks like you have the answer to your question, hands down!

I'm a big C5 fan, not so much on the C6. I have had very little problems with my C5. It runs great, gas mileage is good, put navigation and built in Radar/ laser detection, IPod etc., only has 30k miles on it. It's just a great car! Have had people ask if I want to sell it . . . the answer is always "No". The C6Z is just about the only car that I would sell my C5 in a heartbeat for. The C6Z is a no brainer, go for it!

Default I'd say a ZR1 would be quite nice too...

If it was a weekend toy, I would buy the C5. If' it's a daily, I would do the C6.
